frank
Just found on the Cottbus Homepage, for information, that Kevin McKenna will travel to the Bermudas to participate on a trainings camp of his national team http://www.fcenergie.de/news/news.php?ID=3037
Grizzly
McKenna played 90 as Cottbus gained some much needed breathing room from the relegation zone by beating Hertha Berlin 1-0 in Berlin before close to 52 000 fans. McKenna was apparently lucky not to have a penalty shot called against him in a play which he helped prevent a scoring chance.
frank
which he confirmed it was a penalty. Nevertheless, again he was one of the best players in his team. Daniel was on the bench, but did not appear as his Bochum lost 1:3 at Wolfsburg. Although they were the better team, now they are in the relegation spots again. Later on Nicklas playes with his Wacker Burghausen against Duisburg, so could anger them and help Kaiserslautern and Josh to overtake MSV and clinch the promotion territtory
frank
a victory assumed at Freiburg, the best team of the second half of the campaign.
Grizzly
1860 fire coach Wachner and replace him with their reserve team coach Marco Kurz. Wachner never had much success after he replaced the more successful Rainer Maurer who was ill advisedly fired by management after a few losses. Maurer was a big promoter of Ledgerwood while Wachner seemed more intent on playing veterans though to be fair Ledgerwood was also injured a lot. Hopefully Kurz being the reserve team coach will give younger players like Ledgerwood more playing time next year when he returns to 1860.
Grizzly
Speaking of Ledgerwood he played 90 seemingly as a defender as Burghausen get a rare and surprising win over 3rd place Duisburg on the road 4-3. Burghausen is now 3 points from a non-relegation spot.
frank
therefore Kaiserslautern failed and lost at Freiburg 4:1. Not even a early 1:0 lead could give them the security they needed to get the important 3 points. With that lost FCK stayed at 43 points, followed by 3 teams with 42 points. Josh went 45 minutes but could not work miracles. Now we have 5 teams arguing for place 3!!!
Grizzly
Riley O'Neill makes his debut for SV Wilhelmshaven in the German 3rd division against the reserve team of Hamburger SV. He came on in minute 72 with the score 2-2 and his team down a man due to a red card. HSV went ahead but Wilhelmshaven tied it with a last minute penalty. The game report states that O'Neill brought some offensive life into the team when he came on though they mistakenly call him Brian. http://www.svwilhelmshaven.de/news,svw-news,,549,1.php
Grizzly
O'Neill subs on for SVW at minute 71 with the team down 2-0 to Kiel. Game ends 3-1 for Kiel in a loss which really hurts SVW's chances to avoid relegation.
Grizzly
McKenna plays 90 in Cottbus 0-0 with 2nd place top scoring team Werder Bremen. Important point in the relegation battle with Cottbus in 11th place but still only 3 points away from a relegation spot in the extremely tight table. According to Kicker Bremen could not penetrate the Cottbus defensive wall. Unfortunately both McKenna and his centre back partner picked up their 5th yellow card of the season meaning both are suspended for the next game and Cottbus will have to field a new centre back pair.
