April 2006 will kick-off a new soccer season with the “Comètes de Laval” competing in the W-League of the United Soccer League. This is the highest level of competition for women in North America. The USL is also the competitive home of the Montreal Impact. The team has struck a partnership with the Montreal Impact, the « Centre Sportif Bois-de-Boulogne », the Quebec Soccer Federation as well as Mr. Pierre Marchand who will be acting as its private promoter. This partnership will guarantee the team’s continuity over the next three years. The Board of Directors will be represented as follows; Mr. Pierre Marchand, President, Mr. Nick Fillipone, Vice-President, Mrs. Brigitte Frot, Tresurer, Mr. Jean-Louis Bédard and Mr. Dino Madonis acting as Directors. Mr. Philippe Ciarlo, General Manager, will shoulder the administrative board. This joint venture will allow Quebec’s top female players from the Provincial and National teams to compete at the highest level with a home base in the greater Montreal area. «We are very exited to be able to compete with a Laval based team in the North American W-League. This organization was born from high-class partners holding the development of Women Soccer close to their hearts. Through this partnership our top players will be able to compete close to home over the next three years. Furthermore, the team will be playing out of one of the best soccer sites in Canada, the “Centre Sportif Bois-de-Boulogne” added Mr. Pierre Marchand, team President and Promoter.
