Guest Jeffery S.
Noone is going to blame Julian for the Marseille loss, especially since the team was really hit by a card-happy ref and could not hold on in the end. But reports about his play are not that positive. He is not appearing as a talent with the ball, more a workhorse with pace. Depor is still looking at mids, including a powerful junior from Sporting Gijon, Fuego, who would rival for Julian´s spot. With Luque gone to Newcastle they have money to buy, and could be looking at foreigners who'd also take up a non-EU spot. He´ll have to put a few strong performances together, along with finding results going well for the team, to get playing time and more respect. denis
This report is not exactly new but it puts a positive light on Julian performance. http://www.goal.com/NewsDetail.aspx?idNews=79656&progr=
Cheeta
Too early in the day to really judge anything about the Guz. If he's getting playing time then at least, he's shown that he's not entirely lost out there and worth an investment in the match experience. I'm quite sure he'll step it up (as it were) once he settles in a bit more and gets to understanding how it is things are in La Liga. A brave and ambitious move by Julian, leaving Germany. Shows the type of character you like to see in a professional athelete.
