Quebec rappers wear Impact jersey in video

They've worn it onstage previously. The group is called Loco Locass and is the premier rap group in Québec, mixing political, social and philosophical themes and lyrics. However, this latest video, "Bonzaïon", is about super-weed [8D].

I remember when April Wine's drummer used to wear Manic Shirts while they toured nothern Quebec. I still get goosebumps.

Those political, social and philisophical themes tend to be of the Seperatist variety. These guys actually advocate the use of force to seperate from their sweet deal (federal transfer payements).

Ironic because, according to G-Man, those jersey's wouldn't be around if it weren't for goverenment funds.

Funny, because it shows what kind of hypocrites the seperatists actually are.

The Québec Government (who injected money into the Impact) is a branch of the feds? Didn't know that...

Poor Rene Levesque must be spinning in his grave at the thought of anyone using violence to bring about a political change.

And it was a PQ government that propped up the team. However the FEDS did give over 150K in the ad scam scandel to the Impact when they played in the NPSL out of the CRC.

But then again they also gave cash to Ottawa Senators. To have the Canada wordmark on the Corel Center. Just to make sure people knew that they were in Canada.

If you are unfamiliar with how the federal transfer payments work I will give you a short overview.

Since not all provinces are equally wealthy, the federal government takes some of the windfall from the wealthier provinces (Ontario, Alberta and now Saskatchewan!) and distributes it among the 'have-not' provinces. Quebec is considered a 'have not' province, therefore it recieves federal cash into its provincial coffers. This money, I believe, can only be used for certain provincial programs (like health care and education).

However, this influx in cash allows provinces (like Quebec) to use more provincial tax payer revenue for pet projects (like soveriegnty referendums). I was merely pointing out the irony in a seperatist minded rap group advertising for soccer team that seems to have been aided (directly and indirectly) by a government that they are opposed to being governed by.

The 'Funny' part is how these lads illustrate how separatists must not understand what kind of sweet deal they want to walk away from.

The Sad part is that they seem to be gaining momentum.
