mtlfan Posted September 4, 2004 Share Posted September 4, 2004 There's nothing like some good news to start off the Weekend CANADIAN U-15 TEAM DEFEATS GERMANY 5-1 Robinson Dominates Second Half with Three Goals Charlottetown, PEI – Canada’s Women’s Under-15 Team defeated Germany 5-1 on Friday at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, PEI. Jodi-Ann Robinson led the attack with three goals in the second of the two 40 minute halves. The weather was cool and wet with the rain keeping away a portion of the expected crowd. Even with the foul weather, 1500 Islanders showed up to cheer the young Canadians on. The Germans were overpowered by a very strong and physical Canadian side that opened up the scoring in the first half with goals by Canadian Striker Sydney Leroux in the 18th minute followed by a goal from Adrienne Ruhe-Lischke in the 40th minute. The second half of the game belonged to Canadian striker Jodi-Ann Robinson (Richmond, BC) who found the back of the net three times in the 42nd, 54th and 72nd minutes. Germany responded only once in the 54th minute with a goal by Marie Pollmann. Both teams will now travel to Moncton, New Brunswick for their second match on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. before wrapping up the three game series in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Monday, September 6th at 4:00 p.m. Games Moncton - September 5 - 1:00 p.m. Halifax - September 6 - 4:00 p.m. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
