Final Score:.........Toronto Lynx..........2 (OT)..........Richmond Kickers.............3 (OT)...........

Attendance was announced as 3660 on this hot overcast day with a downpour clearing out most of the kids here on Youth Day when it started to pour down just after the Lynx second goal at 54 minutes and continued until 82 minutes when it stopped and eventually the sun came out. The Kickers scored two goals during that time.

The Lynx made two defensive subs after the Kickers first goal to protect their lead but when it came time to try to score the winner, their forwards John Barry Nusum and Ali Gerba were too tired and had trouble running back to their own half of center. Nusum could have put the game away before the rains came with all the shots and headers he directed off target earlier in the game. The Kickers missed on about half a dozen shots of their own with inaccurate shooting. The Lynx actually outplayed the Kickers for long stretches of the game.

The Kickers now move 17 points ahead of the Lynx for the fourth and final playoff spot in the East Conference. The Lynx and Rogers broadcast publicity was that it was all about this being a 'must win' game for the Lynx so now it will be interesting to see what the team can do to encourage people to come out to the remaining games of the year. The Kickers, Montreal, Rochester and Atlanta have opened up a huge gap on the five have-not teams in the conference. Next Lynx game is a home match against Calgary on Sunday at 6:00pm. It counts for the Voyageurs Cup although Montreal Impact has that all but mathematically wrapped up.
