Reports suggest Canadian striker Tomasz Radzinski could be on the move

LIVERPOOL, England (CP) - Disgruntled Canadian striker Tomasz Radzinski could be headed to Fulham, according to a published report.

The Liverpool Echo reported Tuesday that Fulham manager Chris Coleman is confident of acquiring the Canadian from Everton for 1.5 million pounds ($3.7 million Cdn). Everton turned down a Fulham offer of 900,000 pounds ($2.2 million Cdn) at the end of last season.

The 30-year-old forward has also been linked with a move to Charlton Athletic, according to reports.

Radzinski rocked Everton last week, telling the Echo that Everton manager David Moyes was unable to make a decision and that England teenage star Wayne Rooney should leave the club.

The Canadian has one year left on his contract with the Liverpool-based team and has been unable to agree on a new deal at Goodison Park. He turned down a recent three-year deal from Everton.

Moyes has not commented publicly on the Radzinski outburst, but the two met Tuesday at the team's training camp in Austria. Radzinski, given some extra time off because of his summer national team duties, flew in Monday.

"David had a word privately with Tomasz this morning at our hotel," assistant manager Alan Ivine was quoted on the club's official website.

Fulham is also reportedly interested in Blackburn striker Andy Cole.

Everton paid Belgian club Anderlecht 4.5 million pounds ($11.1 million Cdn) for Radzinski in 2001.

According to "independent.co.uk":

"Tomasz Radzinski has been told he can leave Everton after an angry showdown with Moyes about the Canadian striker's criticism of the manager. He also made the mistake of advising Wayne Rooney to leave. Moyes decided to let Radzinski go now rather than make him sit and stew through the last year of his contract."

Looks like Radz will be teaming up with fellow North-American/Ex-ToffeeMan Brian McBride.

No deal yet for Radzinski, but hopefully something will happen next week:

Everton turns down Fulham offer for Canadian

LIVERPOOL, England — Everton has turned down a 1.3-million-pound ($3.2 million Cdn) offer from Fulham for Tomasz Radzinski but an agreement on selling the Canadian striker could come as early as next week, according to published reports.

The Liverpool Echo said Everton wants 1.75 million pounds ($4.3 million Cdn) for Radzinski, who is embroiled in a contract dispute with the Premier League club.

The Guardian reports an agreement is likely to be reached next week.

Everton manager David Moyes met Radzinski at the club's Austrian training camp Tuesday to discuss the striker's negative comments in an interview last week.

In that article, Radzinski called Moyes indecisive and said both he and star striker Wayne Rooney should head to greener pastures. The 30-year-old Canadian also said new signing Marcus Bent wasn't enough to keep the club from struggling again this season.

Moyes has not spoken publicly about the outburst but the Echo said disciplinary action has been taken against Radzinski, possibly in the form of a two-week fine. The paper also said Radzinski has apologized to Bent.

Everton spent 4.5 million pounds ($11 million Cdn) in 2001 to buy Radzinski from Belgium's Anderlecht.
