big fan
One month until their first game and they still don't have enough players signed to field a team. CPSL players are going to fill their roster spots, looks like another great season. Any signings close to happening?
SeanKeay
Im assuming that he isnt going to pick up many cpsl'ers... so i dont think that matters, and i bet Duncan already has most of his players near signing..
JayWay
I really wouldn't worry. Duncan maybe Wilde, but he's not nuts. :-p There's no way a coach would allow their team to enter the season short on players. I'm sure Duncan and the man of Steele have everything under control. Rocket Robin
Looks like March 15th for physicals... (don't know if this entire cut and past will post here) The 2004 Toronto Lynx Roster is coming together as player physicals are planned for March 15th by the Lynx medical team under the directorship of Dr. Robert Gringmuth of Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Centre and spring training set to begin on March 23rd at the Soccer Centre. ( see attached for full pre-season and regular season training) Some Lynx players have been hard a work since September providing school soccer clinics as part of the annual school program with two bigger clinics being planned for March 24th at St. John Bosco Elementary School and another on April 26th at St. Jerome Elementary School. This season the school program has been especially successful with 4887 students/educators already booked for the school day on Wednesday June 9th and a special Youth Day Matinee on Wednesday July 14 already boasting 4517 fans booked for the match. Ontario soccer coaches will be regaled with a complimentary soccer clinic on March 27th by Duncan Wilde and his team of fine coaches which is being sponsored by Tim Hortons and recommended by the NSCAC. The Club will come together wearing their official jerseys on Tuesday April 6th for the 2004 team photo at the Soccer Centre and will be presented to the media/soccer VIP’s at the annual Meet the Lynx Luncheon and Press Conference taking place on April 7th at the Travelodge Hotel at Keele and Highway 401. On April 12th the team will depart for Puerto Rico for training in the sun and for the Puerto Rico Islanders Home opener, which is taking place on Saturday April 17th at 8:00 at the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in San Juan. Upon their return, the Lynx will resume training at the Downsview Hangar with a special Toronto Lynx Supporters Club Open Practice & barbecue being planned on Saturday April 24th at 10:00 at Downsview Park. The open practice will be followed by an exhibition match versus the All-star team of the Toronto Futsal Palace at 12:00 to the delight of the growing Canadian-Latino community. An exhibition match versus the Brampton Hitmen of the CPSL will be taking on the Toronto Lynx on April 25th at Victoria Park with a 2:00 kick off as a further warm up to the upcoming season. With the hope that the ferry service to Rochester will be ready by May 1st, the Toronto Lynx Supporters Club is planning a fan road trip to catch the Toronto Lynx at Rochester match. Guest Ed
These Lynx press announcements remind me of Ewan MacGregor's comments regarding his ex-girl friend Minnie Driver's relentless pursuit of the spotlight. "She'd attend the opening of an envelope".
