sstackho
Greuther Furth score two to get a 2-1 lead. Bremen gets a player sent off in the 82nd minute, but subsequently score two injury time goals to pull out a 2-3 victory. Stalteri plays 90 and nets the first goal. Bremen move on to the cup semifinals, to be played in mid-March. Greuther Furth are a lower-table 2nd div team. http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-germanycup&prov=reuters&type=lgns quote:Werder made a promising start, Canada midfielder Paul Stalteri putting them in front with a powerful effort from 20 metres on 18 minutes. DJT
I'm surprised that Jeffrey didn't mention that Benfica were back in action on Tuesday for the first time since Fehér's death (the match was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed because of that). Fernando Aguiar was subbed on at the 90th minute as Benfica defeated visiting Académica 2-0.
sstackho
Ha ha, Bayern Munich lose 2-1 to their 2nd division competition in their cup match today. Opens the doors for a possible double for Bremen!
canadiankick97
In F.A Cup replay action today Radzinski and his Toffees fell 2-1 to Fulham in extra time. Radzinski apparently hit the post in his 62 minutes. Spurs lost a thriller to Manchester City (4-3) after leading 3-0. Hirschfeld didn't make the bench as a substitue. Guest Jeffery S.
Richard Hastings played 90 Thurs eve as Maastricht VV beat Stormvogels Telstar (and you guys complain about CDN team names) 1-0 in the Dutch 2nd div. The team now has three wins on the season, is still in the fight to avoid relegation. Paul Fenwick did not dress as Hibs beat Rangers in penalties after a 1-1 draw to go into the League Cup finals.
