A 10,000-seat stadium in Sherbrooke, QC

The university there has rebuilt the stadium for the 2003 University Games (or something) and for their 2003 CIS football team. It seats 10,000, has a half-roof on one side and there is a track.

I believe the surface is Fielturf.

Sherbrooke's population is 153,811 as of the 2001 census.

Actually, the stadium at the University of Sherbrooke is new and has 5000 permanent seats. It was complete this spring for the World Student Games which are to be played this summer. There will be an additional 5000 temperary stands added for the games. The field is natural grass with a track surrounding it -- not "FieldTurf"!

I am not sure if they will replace the field with "FieldTurf" for the new CIS University gridiron team, which is to start play this fall, but I think the natural turf will remain for this season at least.

This will make two natural grass football stadiums in the Sherbrooke region. The other being Coulter Field at Bishop's University with a seating capacity of 2500.
