Guest Jeffery S.
depending on what Celta Vigo do with their starting B keeper (slated to leave) Daniel Fernandes could get registered among the youth players allowed on the roster for their Champions run. Providing he is still with the team that is. That would still only make him 3rd or 4th keeper for the run, though.
DoyleG
What about talk that the Celta's No.1 leavign the club? He's been mentioned heading for ManU to repalce Barthez.
Guest Jeffery S.
Cavallero has probably been the best keeper in Spain this year. He has had amazing games, like one stopping two penalties at Valencia and Celta winning it. He is very serene, technically sharp, perhaps not spectacular but modelic for anyone wanting to see a top keeper. I personally think he'll stay at Celta as they are in Champions and that makes for a big incentive. At ManUtd Barthez will likely stay and surely Cavallero will not want to sit on the bench or even have to vy for a spot; his sub Pinto is a lesser keeper at Celta, no competition there really. Heard that Cañizares of Valencia is also on the Arsenal replace-Seaman list? Now that would be a fine signing both ways, he has a great mentality, a psychologically honed keeper. The only sure signing for Barça after the Laporta presidency win is Rustu the Turkish keeper, meaning we will likely sell Bonano, who has been the third Argentine national team keeper of late, and keep young Valdes, the usual Spain under 20 starter. Massive Attack
Barry Town's website doesn't have Rayner listed on the team anymore. I think he was let go when they got that Nigerian keeper. Other people on this board know more about this. ------------------------- "I'm going to buy a gun and start a war, If you can tell me something worth fighting for" A Rush of Blood To The Head - Coldplay
DJT
The First Qualifying Round was completed on Wednesday, July 23. KF Tirana (Albania) beat FC Dinamo Tbilisi (Georgia) 3-0 in the second leg after losing by the same score in the first leg, then won 4-2 on PKs. George
Kappos unlikely to be registered for AEK's CL run. He has been made avilable for loan. A number of AEK prospects have already been picked up by other clubs but not Kappos. Hopefully, as the season approaches somebody will take him. "A pretty move, for the love of God."
