If they’re looking for a good model on how to build a successful expansion MLS franchise, the Vancouver Whitecaps have found one just two and a half hours to the south.

“The fact that we have a good relationship with the Sounders, have had in the USL days and still have now, allows us for us to be able to pick the phone up and we’ve had day-long meetings with them, all the various departments within our club,” said Whitecaps President Bobby Lenarduzzi.
