Grizzly Posted September 30, 2009 Share Posted September 30, 2009 Very surprising to me that Puerto Rico decided to throw away their Champion's League like this. They got the result they needed tonight in the tied Columbus-Saprissa match. A victory against Cruz Azul would have meant the final spot for the next round would be decided between whoever won in the match between them and Columbus in Puerto Rico. Instead they conceded elimination obviously feeling they had a better chance in the USL playoffs. Considering they didn't bring some of their best players to Mexico and didn't play many of them who they did bring, they will have no excuses on Thursday if the result is not in their favour.
