Open Canada Cup -Open Cup action continues this weekend as three of

the finalists will be determined. The fourth finalist will be determined

next weekend as 24 British Columbia clubs play-off for a trip to London

Ontario on Labour day weekend.

Canadian Soccer League

Several CSL stars will be missing from action for the next few weeks as

they will be representing Canada at the World University Games in Bangkok

Thailand. They are:

Haidar Al-Shaibani Goalkeeper (North York Astros)

Eric Tse Defender (Portuguese Supra)

Jason De Thomasis Forward (Italia Shooters)

Gérardo Argento Goalkeeper (Trois Rivieres Attak)

In CSL action last night, Diego Maradona scored for the North York Astros.

Yes, Diego Maradona scored for the North York

Astros. No the overweight Diego hasn't come out of retirement, but his

18 year-old nephew may have inherited some of the Maradona brillance. For

the Wolves, Antonio Stranges notched his 8th of the season to move within

2 goals of the league leader Nicolas Lesage.
