FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship All-Star Team announced

FIFA has announced today the All-Star Team of the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship Thailand 2004. Canadian Forward Brittany Timko was the only Canadian chosen for the list.

FIFA’s Technical Study Group selected the following 18 players in recognition of their outstanding performances on the pitch during the competition:

All-time Leading Goal-Scorers

Adding the six goals scored in Thailand by Anja MITTAG (GER) to her three in Canada 2002 and the three strikes by MARTA (BRA) this year to her six goals in Canada 2002, both players’ totals of nine goals is just one strike shy of the all-time FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship scoring record of 10 goals, held by Canadian Christine Sinclair. Brittany TIMKO (CAN) vaulted herself to third on the all-time list with her adidas Golden Shoe-winning performance of seven goals during the competition.
