For Tam Nsaliwa & Victor Oppong

Recommended Posts

Guys, now that these players have been let go, I would seriously love to see these guys in Scandinavia. This is especially for Oppong who has remained in reserve football in the last 3-years. There's definitely a Scandinivian club that would take him on anytime. To the members on this Board, what are your inputs on this one???

I would love to see Tam Nsaliwa play in France. I think he has the speed and skill to play at a high level there. I also think that culturally it would be a much better fit for him than Germany was. He seemed to have a lot of conflict with his German coaches, but in France they embrace African footballers, which I think would help Tam feel more comfortable.

Both Tam and Victor have played for several years in Germany. If either can get on with a German club, why would they want to move to a brand new culture, language, etc.

The 3rd division in Germany may rank with the A-League in terms of play (according to posters here), but look at the numbers posted by a Yank in Germany today.

"Regionalliga players can make between 30 - 200 K a year. along with contracts come signing bonuses, game / point bonuses, promotion bonuses.

germany is also a socialist system, so you get taxed heavily if you are single, but recieve benefits such as complete health insurance coverage, job security for the lenght of your contract, unemployment insurance and many many other benefits.

Regionalliga team complete season payroll runs from about 3 - 10 million USD

all depends on team and situation, going for promotion to the 2nd. bundesliga or just surviving from coming up from the 4th league.

All are full pros and train 7-8 times a week plus weekly league and cup games."

Hard to believe the A-League teams could match that environment.

Although for black players, check this out:

"there are no friendly german teams, it is mostly based upon the coach, not club. Racism is still a big thing over here and sometimes you feel as if you are in the *stone-age* !"

I think that very much depends on the location within Germany.

Nsaliwa should stay in Germany. He has proven last year that he is capable of playing in B-2 and was doing well until some niggly injuries and a coaching change slowed his progress.

Who knows? He scored a 1 in the Kicker rankings against Nurmberg, may they will take him back?

I do think that Victor Oppong should leave Germany and bound for Scandinavia. He will surely benefit by bringing many of his reserve talents that he obtained under the German youth system. I can see him poping goals in the same manner that Patrice Bernier and Oliver Occean are presently doing in Norway.
