DarnCherry
Whitecaps jump to the top of the western division table with a 2-0 victory against the Timbers before 6,007 fans in Portland. Backup keeper Alex Marques gets his second straight shutout against Portland. Oh yeah, I'm not bothering to read the Goddard thread all of you HATERZ![8D][}]

DarnCherry
Well he is! Of course since our backup at the moment is some guy named Stiles (and we aren't talking Nobby) we have no choice. Franks is hurt and even though the Caps keep telling the press that he is perfectly healthy, the fact that he doesn't even make the bench kind of says differently. Anyway, Marques isn't about to leave the team when he isn't starting anyway. He was dug up out of the Vancouver Metro League, so I don't think he thinks he's a hot shot. Not to mention he's only 5 and a half feet tall. Come to think of it, a quick look at the USL stats page (with stats that were tallied before tonights game, Alex Marques, is on quite a few of the top 10 lists: http://www.uslsoccer.com/stats/2004/Top10.28236.2.html
