Kilmarnock have targeted former Newcastle goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek for a possible move to Rugby Park.

The 36-year-old Czech Republic keeper has barely featured for West Ham since joining the club in February after a spell with Portsmouth.

Now Srnicek, who won 36 caps for his country, is one of four names Killie boss Jim Jefferies is looking at as he attempts to replace Francois Dubourdeau and Colin Meldrum, who were released at the end of last season.

Former Hibernian number one Nick Colgan, Bradford keeper Alan Combe and Tottenham's Canada international Lars Hirschfeld are also on Jefferies' list as possible newcomers at the Ayrshire club.

Killie general manager Dave MacKinnon said: 'The manager is away on holiday at the moment but Jim is experienced and highly accomplished at tracking people.

'It would be good to sign people in the next fortnight.

'The priority is a goalkeeper, maybe two depending on finances, and then we will be looking at a central defender and a defensive midfielder.'

Jefferies' plans will soon be helped by the confirmation of a new shirt sponsorship deal tomorrow.

The club are also hoping to announce a £1million supply and partnership agreement with a major brewery next week.
