Dale Mitchell & Stephen Hart to attend Inter-National Training Centre Competition

Ottawa, Ontario – NTC-Ontario will be hosting NTC-Quebec in what is becoming a highly anticipated match up between the two National Training Centres for both male and female players on Saturday March 27 & Sunday March 28, at the Ontario Soccer Centre, located on Martingrove Road just south of Hwy # 7.

U20 National Team Head Coach Dale Mitchell will be flying in on Thursday March 25, to watch three games before departing on the evening of Saturday March 27, to be with the National World Cup Team and Head Coach Frank Yallop at the national team camp in Manchester, England for European based players.

U17 National Team Head Coach Stephen Hart will fly in on Friday March 25 and watch both Inter-NTC games, along with U17 National Women’s Coach Bryan Rosenfeld and U15 National Women’s Coach Jens Kramer.

With the importance of these games becoming more and more critical as it is the ideal scenario to evaluate players in a very competitive environment since the initial National Team Scouting at the All-Star Competition last summer in each of the respective age groups.

In addition to our national coach’s attention, there will also be coaches from U.S. College Coaches from NCAA Division 1 will also be in attendance from UConn; University of Evansville, Indiana; Fairleigh Dickinson University, Virginia and the College of Oneonta, NY. More attention is being given to our National Training Centres across the country by many coaches who are looking for players nationally identified as in this particular weekend from Ontario and Quebec.

All games will be played at the Ontario Soccer Centre – 7601 Martingrove Road.

Directions:

From Hwy # 401

North on Hwy # 427 to Hwy # 7

East (right) to Martingrove Road turn North (right)

Past the first set of lights on the East (left) side.

Thursday evening: starts: March 25th, 2004.

NTCO - Games scheduled vs. competitive squad

6:00 pm kick-off – NTC-Ontario vs. Dixie Soccer Club (females)

8:00 pm kick-off – NTC-Ontario vs. Woodbridge Soccer Club (males)

Saturday

4:00 pm. kick off – NTC-Ontario vs. NTC-Quebec (males)

6:00 pm kick off – NTC-Ontario vs. NTC-Quebec (females)

Sunday

8:00 am kick off – NTC-Ontario vs. NTC-Quebec (males)

10:00 am kick off – NTC-Ontario vs. NTC-Quebec (females

On the same weekend David Benning, Technical Programs Manager, and National Staff Coach will travel to Halifax along with U16 Women’s National Team Coach Lewis Page to attend the Atlantic National Training Center scouting weekend from Friday to Sunday.

Dave Benning will be scouting three girls’ games and three boys’ games. All players in attendance will be those nationally identified from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Following is the schedule for the National Training Center Atlantic Scouting Weekend, March 26th-28th, 2004.

Friday, March 26th

Males 8:00 – 9:15pm Inter-Squad Game

Females 9:15 – 10:30pm Inter-Squad Game

Saturday, March 27th

Males 9:00 – 10:15am Game vs Senior Team

Females 10:15 – 11:30am Game vs Senior Team

Males 7:30 – 9:00pm Game vs Senior Team

Females 9:00 – 10:30pm Game vs Senior Team

Sunday, March 28th

Males 9:00 – 10:15am Inter-Squad Game

Females 10:15 – 11:30am Inter-Squad Game

Please be advised that on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00pm there will be a classroom session at the Future Inns Hotel for all players. All players and coaches are expected to attend.

not sure about the first game tonight, but i caught the girls' game and it ended up 0-0. chances for both sides that all seemed to either go barely wide or hit the posts etc.

ON had a PK that was clanged off the crossbar
