LYNX OPEN TRIALS SET FOR 2004!

October 28, 2003 (TORONTO, ON) - Toronto Lynx Head Coach, Duncan Wilde, having just returned from the U.K., is pleased to announce the 2004 Lynx Open trials which will take place in the new year on January 21st and 22nd from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Oakville Sports Centre.

Wilde is keen on identifying Ontario and National talent that has been developing and may now be ready to take the next step at the pro level, saying, “To enhance the roster for 2004, we are looking for quality players in all positions that will be able to understand and adjust to the various systems of play and strategic game plans that we expect to implement for the new season. Team players are not always easy to find!”

He further states that open trials are essential to accomplish the Lynx commitment to give new players every opportunity to demonstrate their talent and offer them the chance to play at the highest level of soccer in Canada. Wilde who is also the Director of the Toronto Lynx Premier Soccer Academy believes that for many young players a spot on the Lynx roster would be seen as a great honour. “To compete in the A-League and be seen as a potential role model for our youth players will be an exciting and rewarding experience for the 2004 Lynx roster” says the Lynx head coach.

Nicole Hartrell, the Club’s COO and owner, adds, “We are very excited this season and know that Duncan is bringing a new spirit and approach to the team. With close to 40% of Canada’s registered soccer players residing in our province, we have a tremendous pool of talent to choose from. We certainly encourage all players with pro potential and experience to come out!”

Lynx Fans will also have an opportunity to meet and greet Duncan Wilde at the Lynx Fan Social taking place at the Hare and Firkin near Centennial Park Stadium on Friday November 14th 7:00.
