Since the start of the current season, 17.4 million football fans have visited http://www.uefa.com, generating over 60 million visits and 700 million page views - a 25% increase compared to the same period last season.

Football enthusiasts from throughout the world are visiting uefa.com to follow live coverage and the latest news about UEFA's competitions, which is available in 10 languages. Some 58% of visits this season have come from Europe, 22% from the Americas and 17% from Asia and Australia. Top countries include the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Italy, the Russian Federation, Portugal and France.

Live match coverage is the single most visited feature, generating 15% of the overall traffic. "Live is the cornerstone of uefa.com's coverage, with all UEFA's competitions receiving this treatment at some point during the season - from live text and multilingual reporting through to live video streaming, provided by uefa.com and in co-operation with UEFA rights-holding broadcasters. On top of that, our latest addition, Football Europe MatchCentre, provides daily live scores and results from all UEFA national association domestic leagues and has quickly proved to be a hit among our users," said David Farrelly, Editor-in-Chief of uefa.com. On average, 2.4 million visits were registered for UEFA Champions League match weeks and 250,000 visits for UEFA Cup match weeks. The highlight of this season has been rising traffic for UEFA EURO 2008 coverage - with the final qualifying match week attracting over four million visits. The UEFA EURO 2008 match coverage exceeded all expectations, with over 330% growth compared to the final EURO qualifying matches in the 2003/04 season.

uefa.com's breakthroughs this season have included uefa.com podcasts and vodcasts - which are approaching 500,000 downloads.
