DJT
Final: Miami 2 Vancouver 3 18' MIA Mario Rodriguez 22' VAN Joey Gjertsen 30' VAN David Testo 42' MIA MISSED PK Mario Rodriguez (hit post) 45+' VAN Joey Gjertsen 68' MIA Francisco Gomez (PK) Vancouver hung on for another huge win away from home after Puerto Rico on Friday (as many away wins as they managed in the first 11 attempts this season), scoring 6 goals over the two games. But I say "hung on" because Miami pressured throughout the second half and especially at the end, including a shot off the crossbar in stoppage time, but have to rue the missed PK. The extreme heat seemed to have a big effect on Vancouver, especially since it was a very open game and they defended for all of the second half with virtually no possession in the last 15 minutes. Some fortune in the victory, but a very hard-fought victory. Vancouver, now 9-8-5 (W-D-L) and back into second place, have 6 matches remaining and 5 of them are at home, and the one away match is down the road in Seattle.
