Biggest fashion mistake - players: Rory Sabbatini's camouflage "troozers".

Biggest fashion mistake - fans: The bloke dressed as a Womble.

Longest driver: Who do you reckon?

Now you see me, now you don't award: 2004 Open champion Todd Hamilton, who missed the cut.

Best supporters: A tie between the blond wigs and "We love Monty" T-shirts of the Colin Montgomerie fan club (Dunblane chapter), and the blokes wearing huge Jack Nicklaus masks and carrying silver foil Claret Jugs.

Biggest cheers outside Nicklaus/Montgomerie: Nick Faldo, the Open crowds still love him

Most logos: John "The Wild Thing" Daly, aka "The Lion". His shirts are more a collection of sponsors' badges sewn together. Hooters, a sports bar with scantily clad waitresses, being the pick of the bunch.

Biggest media myth: The Fab Four/Five. It's a Wonderful One.

Get them off now award: Assorted media types, management sorts and celebrity hangers-on sporting golf shoes. You're not in the tournament, stop pretending you are.

Biggest disappointment: Monty didn't win.

Biggest turn up for the books: Monty contending for a major again.

Most puffed up with their own importance: Tiger Woods' security goons.

Sandy Lyle "trip down memory lane" award: Fred Couples.

Most fairways in regulation: Scott Drummond (81%).

Toughest hole: 17th, par four, played to 4.628.

Most shots on a hole: Nine - Zach Johnson (17th, R1), Tom Pernice (14th, R2), KJ Choi (17th, R4).

Costantino Rocca award for best escape from Valley of Sin: Jose Maria Olazabal's eagle putt and matador celebration in round three.

Most greens in regulation: Scottish amateur Eric Ramsay (86%).

Bruce Forsyth celebrity award for services to golf watching: Ronnie Corbett, proposed by a Mr B Forsyth.

Pork pie prize: The chip shop owner who swore blind that US Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman popped in for a pizza every night.

Abraham Lincoln honesty award: A tie between David Toms for disqualifying himself, and John Daly for admitting he finds Champions' Dinners boring.

Most schizophrenic golfer: Duffy Waldorf, who went 68-81-68 for his last three rounds.

Captain Nicotine award: A three-way tie between Darren "Cheroot" Clarke, John "Human Chimney" Daly and Miguel Angel "Havana" Jimenez.

Most in need of a trip to the gym: American Scott "Guts"-chewski

Services to the hops industry award: Mark "mine's a cold one, so what if it's before breakfast?" Calcavecchia.

Lowest round: David Frost's second-round 65 set a new course record for the lengthened Old Course.

Least putts: David Frost, Mark Hensby, Tiger Woods, Luke Donald (30 on average per round.)
