Julian de Guzman getting new teammates?

Tomasson is one of those players who should be starting all the time but chose to go to a huge club that couldn't give him that (though he did end up playing more than I thought he would, though that was partly because of Shevchenko's injury). Now that Milan want to keep Crespo after his loan from Chelsea, Tomasson would probably remain a third choice (or worse, if Inzaghi stays healthy). Dhorasoo is one of those players who would show up once in a while and everyone would wonder who he is. ;)

The article says that Depor missed qualifying for Europe, but I believe they will play in the Intertoto Cup, along with Valencia.

Julian will also be getting a new coach, as Irureta decided not to continue this week after 7 years. Great coach for them, a wise old fox with a fine character, but perhaps a bit soft lately. The guy has actually lived in a hotel for the whole time, in a small-ish 40 sq. m. suite.

Rumoured to be going there is Joaquin Caparrós, Sevilla coach who has chosen not to continue. But there are other names out there as well.

Deportivo did sign up for the Intertoto, and if they decide to try for it, it means playing the first round 1st and 2nd week of July, so that instead of starting pre-season in early July, they'll have to be back at it by June 20 or so. I am not sure that this is the right option as a team can burn out with such a long season, and the odds of making top 3 in Intertoto and qualifying for Uefa, a lesser prize, are marginal, the benefits slim.

Hope Julian is learning Spanish, with that last name everyone will expect him to be fluent from the start.

Caparrós has signed for Deportivo as coach. He is quite intense, usually plays tough even brutal defense, is very good at bringing up young players. Really don't know how he'll handle Julian, but since Irureta was upset by his signing as it seems he was not consulted, being the president's decision, this is probably better for de Guz getting a fair shot at things.

Barça striker Sergio Garcia, on loan this year to relegated Levante, reportedly has an offer from Deportivo. As long as they don't sign a pure midfielder more Julian is okay, but they do have some good mids already.
