Guest Ed Posted May 26, 2005 Share Posted May 26, 2005 Dieter Ferner, the amateur coach at FC Saarbruecken is retiring after leading the FC Saarbruecken reserves to a 7th place finish in the Oberliga. He is / was a big supporter of Julian de Guzman and was a champion for him moving up from the amateurs to the Saarbruecken full team a few years ago. Julian must have had his doubts over his move from Marseilles to an obscure Bundesliga 2 club but Dieter Ferner surely helped him get his game going in Germany. He has also coached Victor Oppong and Tam Nsaliwa. I think he deserves some credit in helping Julian reach his potential and becoming a star in the Bundesliga and I hope he enjoys his retirement.
