Robert
In today's (Tuesday, October 26, 2004) Province an interesting article entitled, "Caps, BCSA join forces to improve local soccer" appears on page A47. A peace treaty was signed between two of British Columbia's largest players. BCSA President Victor Montagliani concedes that fragmentation has long been the obstacle that has prevented soccer in BC from fully actualizing. The paper honestly states that, "...the last straw was Canada's continued embarrassment on the international stage , especially the Canadian men's pathetic World Cup qualifying efforts..." that led to this ceasefire. Bob Lenarduzzi, director of soccer operations for the Whitecaps would like to see other provinces follow suit. A great day for Canadian soccer.
