leekoo Posted May 29, 2003 Share Posted May 29, 2003 After getting a 6:1 licking from the USA at the Addidas Cup the other day, our U19 Women's Coach laid off the HappyTalk and gave a us pretty good assessment of the situation regarding the gap between between the American and Canadian Women's programs: "We played against a great U.S. team tonight,” said Head Coach Ian Bridge. “They gave us a lesson in fast, efficient build-up play, combined with lethal finishing. Almost any defensive mistake that we made was punished. We didn't make many, but the fact that they scored six shows the quality of their team.” “We need to continue playing opposition of this caliber. Playing against the best gives us the greatest opportunity for developing as a team. I look forward to our game against Japan on Thursday,” added Bridge. THANK YOU IAN ...
