The Whitecaps offered the following comment regarding the SLC fan's request for compensation due to the cancelled game Saturday.

The temporary grass pitch was installed as planned and as early (and late) as schedules allowed but unfortunately, the rain started to fall heavily.Normal levels of rain in Vancouver for July would have been very manageable but of course, adverse weather conditions are not within our control.
Officials from both clubs were onside with the league's decision to postpone the match.
Obviously it was extremely disappointing for all parties impacted.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer compensation to traveling supporters but will provide the appropriate credit for their match tickets
