  2. A touch of Barcelona magic in Southern Ontario. It’s the FC Barcelona influence that makes a Summer Soccer Camp mid-July so special. It’s five days of intense training with professional coaches from the club which today is rated the best in the world. And exposure to Barcelona scouts always on the lookout for that special local player. The CSL’s York Region Shooters are staging the camp, being hosted at the St. Joan of Arc field at Maple, just north of Toronto from July 9 to 13. It’s all put together by Barcelona-based Soccer Services with the five-day program designed by the same coaches and technical directors that have helped the famous Spanish club be the team it is today. They now take it globally. Famous FC Barcelona players Carles Puyol and Xavi Hernandez are mentored by Soccer Services coaches and officially endorse the company. Soccer Services director Joan Vila is current FC Barcelona methodology director, and co-directors David Hernandez and Carles Romagosa are also consultants to the famous club. David Fernandez is the principal coach here to help players be fitter, technically better equipped and simply be better players. The fee for the five days of a highly concentrated program from Monday, July 9 to Friday, July 13, 9 am to 3 pm, is $450.
