  1. Every Friday, I will give my keys to victory for the Montreal Impact, in 3 points! Point 1 Backline Discipline The Montreal Impact defense have already racked up 4 yellow cards in the first 2 games, particularly early in the first halves ( Camara, Duvall and Ciman). On top of exposing your team to the risk of having a player sent off, those early yellows affect the way the player on notice approaches his tackle opportunities. On a very small pitch like the one at Yankees Stadium, the fraction of a second loss to hesitation from the defender on notice can prove quite costly and

  5. Close, but no cigar. We saw a better performance by the Montreal Impact tonight, especially in the midfield, but an old foe has come back to sink the Home-Opener's ship; extra time. With already over 3 minutes played after the first 90, the Seattle Sounders and their new veteran acquisition, Will Bruin made Montreal pay for their lack of killer instinct earlier in the game. It all started beautifully though for the Bleu-Blanc-Noir, better possession and passing accuracy in the midfield, early looks on goal, great use of the flanks by Oyongo, Piatti and Oduro. Montreal even took a tw

  7. Every Friday, I will give my keys to victory for the Montreal Impact, in 3 points! Point 1 The Cohesion in the Midfield Montreal had all sorts of trouble in the midfield last week. Congestion, led to confusion that led to loss of possession, this really was noticeable when Montreal was trying to transition the ball forward. Smaller, higher pourcentages passes are key for the Impact to generate quality opportunity to feed their best attacking options, Piatti and Mancosu, which were left on an island last week. Point 2 Oyongo and Piatti The combination of Ambroise Oyo

  13. Not only did Montreal packed the Stade Olympique like it was 1994, the Impact, the supporters and the fans created a moment that will forever be associated with this city and this club with the great mosaic, definitely an accomplishment knowing the logistics, implication and shear luck involved in pulling off a stunt of this scale. On top of how the club and the city treated the final itself, management did everything in its power to put all the chances on their side with massive investments on training, team travels and altitude acclimatization, especially with the 17 days stay in Pachuca bef

  19. In a very hostile environment, the Impact were beat 4-2 on the night, but were able to eek out two away goals that were enough to propel them to this continent's highest club football stage possible! To talk about this historical result, Kevin had Daniel Feuerstein of Feuerstein's Fire and together they dissected the game, talked about the refereeing in Concacaf or the lack there of, the rowdy crowds who were throwing everything ,shoes included in the direction of Evan Bush, hitting him many times with coins in the back of the head (which is a despicable behavior if you ask me) and the imp
  20. Today, Kevin previewed the historical game that will take place this Tuesday at 10pm Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Montreal arrived in enemy territory Saturday with a two goal advantage, looking to stop the existence of "la r3 m0ntada" and book their tickets to the Concacaf Champions League Final! Kevin also reviewed the first game in the history of the FC Montreal, a 2-0 loss against their 401 Derby rivals Toronto FC2 . Kevin also reviewed the Impact's home opener versus Orlando City Soccer Club, a 2-2 draw and gave his impression on KAKA in MLS in 2015 so far! Po

  22. The fact that Justin Mapp is left footed and can use this skill to cut back inside from his wide right position and be a threat from far away makes him almost irreplaceable. Here is the two options that I would consider barring no more injuries and no trades -- a few roster moves to diversify the attack and a schematic change to diversify the point of breakdown of the defense. For the purpose of this exercise, I will consider Andres Romero as available even if his presence for the first leg of the semi finals is in doubt. I was tempted to just replace Mapp with Romero, as Romero can play on

  24. The game's at 10 Eastern /7 Pacific in Guatemala City. Heredia have a good start won 2 of their 3 games and their only loss is away to champions Comunicaciones at Comunicaciones' stadium wich happens to be the place where the Impact will play tomorrow. 5 regulars on the Impact didn't make the trip: Bernier, Di Vaio, Ferrari, Mapp and Nesta. I wonder if the Impact will be able to get the 3 points. I wouldn't be surprised that the Impact failed to win that game with 5 starters resting for the Houston game.
  25. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/soccer/pro-soccer-player-david-testo-comes-out-of-the-closet/article2232226/ Is this a first for North American soccer? Will it affect his ability to secure a club for 2012 or does he intent to retire? I'm not familiar with the player, but wish him well. It takes a lot of courage to come out while still a (potentially) active player.
