  2. Just staring a thread to see how many, if any, are contemplating going to Canada's first two group stage games. I am inclined to use this summer to hit my bucket list goal of following the CMNT through the majority of a Gold Cup tournament. So far, I have targeted the group games as do-able. Are there any others equally committed or equally in need of being committed to some type of institution? My plan would be to fly YEG to LAX to IAH to YYZ on the days between the games and then see what happens after that. Any suggestions on how to co-ordinate ticket purchases so that all the Vs end up
  3. Did not see one so thought I'd start one: Canada-specific Gold Cup general news leading up to the games and their threads. (Actually thought of this seeing Keylor Navas will be operated and won't be in goal for CR in Toronto, much better for us as he is obviously one of their marquee players.) Here is our schedule for 1st round. I'll edit in tv rights, if someone knows. 08 July 2015. 10:30 PM vs El Salvador, Carson, CA 11 July 2015. 6:30 PM vs. Jamaica, Houston 6.30 14 July 2015. 8:30 PM vs. Costa Rica, Toronto Local times. Quarter finals 18 and 19 July in East Ruther

  5. Tickets are still on sale at The Voyageurs Canada will assemble at the end of June in Santa Barbara, California prior to the tournament’s opening game. The top two teams from each group; as well as the two highest-seeded third-place finishers will advance to the knock-out stages. Canada won the Gold Cup in 2000 and has since succeeded in making it to the tournament semi-finals on two other occasions (2002, 2007); and made it to the quarter-finals in 2009. In Canada, Sportsnet holds the broadcast rights to the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament. Check local listings to see where it will air in yo
  6. The 2016 100th anniversary Copa America and whether Canada can qualify for it have raised the stakes for our nation’s soccer fandom. (The men's side is what we're focused on here.) Not to mention the oft-rumoured changes to Concacaf WC qualifying that could offer more difficult matches at an earlier stage. Sure, losing by seven goals in Honduras was shattering. But how about gassing July’s Gold Cup and thus missing the hemisphere's biggest soccer party ever. And then come September, suffering early elimination from Russia 2018 at the hands of, say, Guatemala. Narrowly missing out on the Hex
  7. Looking for the times and channels showing the Uefa CL final I came across the following http://footballtvcanada.blogspot.com/ Well played that man!
  8. Thought I'd pop a thread in here for anyone not from the GTA that is going to the Gold Cup game in Detroit in case they want to arrange a car pool. I will be going solo to the game so if anyone from London or area is interested in car pooling to save some gas/parking expenses let me know. I don't mind driving, just no drug mules or convicted felons! Makes it tough to get across the border in a timely manner.
  9. We all know the answer to this question... JACK WARNER and his love for corporate US dollars. What I want to talk about is what can be done to get this tourney hosted in Canada. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/story/2010/07/21/sp-rose-bowl-gold-cup.html
  10. Sorry if this is being discussed somewhere else, but why hasn't any host nation been announced for the 2011 Gold Cup? We're already in 2010, so what's taking so long? Is it a "tradition" in GC history that the host is selected as late as this? It doesn't make the whole thing look very serious if you ask me, since the World Cups hosts are announced waaayy before the actual event (I know, I know, it's the World Cup, but still)... Please enlighten me.
