  1. ... except shouldn't there have been a card also?
  2. Ok, well, I'm not going back through the schedule to figure out where those missed PKs were... so definitely a home/away split.
  3. I went through the box scores to count goals, I only got 10, not 12, so maybe I missed some? Or were the 12 penalties including misses? Anyway, it was 7H/3A for goals. (MLS League play) Also a USOC PK at home.
  4. I'm still baffled by the comment that York Region is "rural". I can only imagine they're looking at the Oak Ridges Moraine? That's like looking at Caledon to determine if Peel is rural.
  5. Well, given this was a poll of "peers" I think this is closer to what they were voting on when they were voting. Green with jealousy / jealous of the green. I mean, how dare he take all that money, a DP slot, and all the f'n hardware?
  6. Weather - clear (sunny), high 5C, low 0. Pitch should be fine, assuming the groundscrew have had success over the last few weeks with the lights and heating. At least it won't be frozen like this week in Colorado.
  7. The point at which the Zaambrano apologists and those who are apoplectic over Herdman's appointment start dragging a defence of Carolina Morace into the discussion, I know I've entered a parallel universe. Y'all need to sit down and relax for a while. This hyperventilation isn't getting useful oxygen to your brains.
  8. matty, I think you meant Holy Grail.
  9. No worries, I wasn't very aggressive in pursuing it and I was late to the party. Travel safely and we'll connect sometime in the future.
  10. Is there somewhere in this thread where there's a list of all rumoured teams?
  11. Actually, yes! I'm in (north of) Toronto but my parents are in Lakefield... So, multiple locations we can connect, I guess.
  12. I'm looking forward to buying the commemorative scarf for Montreal's win over TFC this year.
  13. I too am disappointed over the loss of Raheem's services. In the Voyageurs' view I am happy if he gets more first team minutes out of this, but It hurts TFC going into a CCL preparation phase. Unfortunately he was the best of the exposed players and I understand how this happened. Expansion drafts suck.
  14. Gah! I hate that word. Would prefer we use something more clear like re-signs rather than the synonym for quit.
  15. (I thought the trophy case was for V Cup, Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup)
  16. ---quote--- As noted during the playoffs last season, the players’ lounge at TFC’s training facility has three trophy cases along one wall, with spots for the Voyageurs Cup, awarded to the winners of the Canadian Championship, the MLS Cup and the CONCACAF Champions League. The first one is occupied. The other two are not. Toronto are favorites to fill the second this season, but the third... well, that would make further tilt the scales in TFC's direction in conversations of the 'greatest ever teams' in MLS. “That would be one factor that fans and media would use to placate the narratives,” said Bezbatchenko. “We're motivated to get to the [FIFA] Club World Cup because no team has done it. It would be a testament to the talent and the creation of this team; to Greg [Vanney]'s work and the players work. “We would love to get [there], but it's so far down the road. We have to take it chronologically. Win the Supporters’ Shield and lock in first place, make a deep run and put ourselves into position to host the Cup again. If we get there, let's win the Cup. And then we can start focusing on the Champions League.” ---end quote--- https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/09/20/toronto-fc-chase-history-tim-bezbatchenko-reflects-clubs-journey
  17. As it turns out, this year the SS and other conference winners don't get spots, because the US is doing their rationalization next year, and so for 2018-2019 they have both the MLS 2017 and 2018 Cup Winners, and 2017 and 2018 Open winners. Of all years to have Canadian regular season champions, this is the best for USSF for CONCACAF reasons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018–19_in_CONCACAF_club_competitions#Teams
  18. D'oh. Yes of course. I mean the Beit replacement. Hasler has been excellent the last few games, I should probably stop thinking of him in those terms. It's an open competition now.
  19. Camera lost track of the ball; Alseth was standing at touch a bit downfield and I don't think the camera knew whether he had the ball or if Vazquez did. Alseth did this a couple of times during the game to confuse Montreal as to who was taking the throw. Ref warned him back onto the pitch the next time he did it.
  20. He needs a proper trainer/doctor. Clearly his body isn't robust enough, which suggests need for a different training regime. (TFC fans will remember Jozy Altidore's problems with his hammies; now look at him)
