There actually really isn't from being like the Fury, if the loans from one league to the other only ever go in one direction and the team(s) taking the loaned player(s) have separate ownership and their own technical staff(s). There is still a clear difference from the B team scenario though.

Good to see that they realize that highlighting a TFC angle is a positive in marketing terms.

Add in Richie Laryea and Emery Welshman to follow Q Roberts and Choiniere and the reasons for the Forge going more slowly than some of the others on signing announcements will have become clear and paid off big time. Good news if you are a Forge fan but potentially problematic elsewhere in competitive parity terms.

Probably not for work related reasons, but will be purchasing the Mediapro app, so I can watch as many of the 198 regular season games as I have time to.

Colo Colo are a huge club so it's not something a player from a Chilean background is likely to not want.

Looking at the quality of their imports for this season plus Attakora, Haworth, Monsalve, Dixon, implosion seems a bit strong.

The Steelers had over 5,000 as the announced attendance at Ivor Wynne (Robert posted the details recently) back in 1987 when the CSL launched. Selling out the lower bowl with 10,000 paid shouldn't have been mission impossible in the present day and would have looked reasonably OK, if cameras were positioned carefully.

That's a non-sequitur. We'll never know how many tickets could have been bought and paid for now that they have decided to make the game free admission.

Another factor might be that they are much more likely to play against Ottawa in the V-Cup than York, so York gets what is currently the more experienced "game-ready" player.
Both loans are good news for everyone involved, including all players and all leagues involved. I'm aware that there are some folks in this part of the forum who are against MLS loaning players to CPL teams because both MLS and loans are evil and must be destroyed*, but I think this is a great sign that the Canadian clubs in different leagues are working together and collaboratively. There is a view that Canadians won't support CPL teams if they are seen to be developing players for MLS teams, but speaking as someone from one of the 9 municipalities that make up York 9, I do not believe that is the case in my neck of the woods - it's more likely to be the opposite, that the people (at least, of the very few in this area who are even aware that there is a York 9 team or a Canadian league) who might be interested in going might be more inclined to do so because they are watching either known commodities or prospects for the "big league" club. It's the same mentality that I see a lot of from the people who go to see Toronto Marlies games, either it's because it's a very cheap day activity for the family or its because they were interested in watching William Nylander, Andreas Johnson, Travis Dermott etc. play knowing that they were being groomed for the big club.
I realize that it could very well be extremely different in other urban centres, but York 9's situation is different from the other 6 since they are in the market/shadow of an MLS Club. When I go around promoting the CPL to soccer or general sports fans (none of whom have ever heard of the league until I tell them about it), the main source of confusion I receive is why it is that York 9 aren't TFC2 or why TFC2 aren't in this league since it is a league which is a self-proclaimed developmental league, launched with the expressed goal of developing Canadian players, coaches and officials.
*A slight exaggeration of the sentiment I've seen displayed on this board, but only a slight one.

How does that address the question? Saying they want something is not the same as guaranteeing it will actually happen. Good to see people are making it clear that they need to do something about this though.

Ticket sales for the flexi pack they were pushing were probably not going too well before they would have resorted to this. Using freebies to entice people is something that definitely doesn't have a great track record where soccer is concerned in North America.

Definitely a much needed uptick in the quality of signings as this draws to a close.

After what happened with Maxime Crepeau last season, this spin that is appearing on here of Ottawa being bad in career terms for fringe Impact signings looks a bit odd to say the least. Suspect we are getting a very slanted version of what is really happening.

Could be a bit like TFC last season though with Bradley, Vazquez, Giovinco and Altidore on board but a shaky defense. In a salary cap league getting the balance right helps a lot. Also possibly one too many guys that are well past their peak now in career terms. Think the Valour might be getting a more solid team from 1 through 11 together but time will tell.
