^ The tickets for Panama might have been a bit pricey, but there was still a big pro-Canada crowd at BMO for the match, not to mention how short a window there was to sell additional tickets after COVID restrictions were loosened. Toronto showed up.
For match in a smaller city without a built-in soccer fanbase, with the prospect of miserable weather, cheap is the way to go. Good on the tall foreheads at the CSA for realizing it.
I'd expect ticket prices in Vancouver in January to fall somewhere in between these two ranges.

I think part of the issue with Teibert, at least for those of us who have watched him for 10 years, is that he's been played out of position for at least 6 or 7 of those 10 years. He's not a left back or wingback, or wide forward. He's a central midfielder. You're right that he has no one great attribute, though he defends better than I think you or others give him credit for.

I love how intensely so many argue that the Caps relative success cannot be attributed to Teibert, fine.
How much of TFCs abject failure this season would you put on a starter and MNT member like Osorio? Or on Laryea?
In some teams you are allowed to hide and wallow for an entire season, bubble-wrapped; you get credit galore when others are there to bail the team out, and are untouchable when it comes to you failing to be a definitive player and pull the group out of the mire.
Look, I am fine with Osorio, in fact a lot. I think he gives the CMNT a lot of positives, no problem there. With Laryea, I am not sure, as his style does not always work for us and is sometimes a bit of a liability. All I am arguing is that at some point, club play, club minutes, and club success should all get built in when looking for merits for a CMNT call-up. We have no starters who are not also starting for their clubs (even Vitória more or less), which is great. My honest opinion is that Teibert should get a look over Liam Fraser, at least, and not be de facto overlooked when it comes to 27-man rosters featuring a bunch of guys injured for an entire window.

You get into November in this part of the world and you're taking you're chances, it can be all over the map, sometimes in the very same day.  I do think maybe a bit too much fuss is being made of this, for the spectators anyway.  November can feel harsh because no one is really acclimatized to the cooler tempatures just yet but it really isn't that bad.  As long as it isn't raining or crazy windy when you're in the grandstand shoulder to shoulder I think most people are going to be pretty comfortable.
The player's galloping around the pitch?  Maybe not so much.   The European players will be way more comfortable than those used to central America climes but again, who knows on the day?  If memmory serves depending on wind direction MOST of the playing surface at Commonwealth is fairly sheltered.  (The South end/open end being a bit of a havoc reaper for kickers?).
Mother Nature be damned, it's going to be two beautiful nights in Edmonton.  Gawd I hope it snows.  Just for the optic.

As it stands today, the Vancouver Whitecaps are a playoff team in MLS. They are 7th in the Western Conference and 12th overall. If you look at their form over the past 3 months and extrapolated that across a whole season, you'd be looking at a top-three overall points total. Russell Teibert is the captain of that team and has played about 80% of the available league minutes over the course of the season. Yet we've got people here suggesting that he's only there as some form nepotism? Seriously, give your fucking heads a proper soak. He's far from the best player in MLS, but he's also far from the worst. He's a good midfielder of the type that are required in any successful team.

This is sad to me somehow. While it's great to have a spot for 2026, the intensity of these qualifiers and the number of matches finally being played on home soil has to be a highlight for many Canadian supporters. Were we to have a disappointing WC in 2026 (3 or 4 games, with maybe one win) and those were the only life or death matches in a 4-year stretch, I'd feel like we were missing out.

Clock's ticking for guys like Laryea and Kaye to make a move, if they ever do or that's what they want. Mid-20s is a soccer player's peak.

I share your slowly growing appreciation for Miller.
Osorio is almost 30 and I would be surprised to see him make a move to a big European club. He is a top MLS player (among the non-DPs) and that's a pretty decent caliber nowadays.

These two Canada matches are probably the best chance to see a home side win at Commonwealth (or next door!) in what's left of 2021. Fill it up!
