HRM, like any municipal government, can at times be difficult to work with. I also agree that parking will be a necessary component of the future expansion of the Halifax Infirmary. However, I do think that the Province is coming off as heavy handed in this process. They have just issued a tender for a project over a portion of land that they do not yet owned and for which they haven't been given license over. They know that they have the upper hand in this negotiation as any provincial government in Canada has the power to expropriate municipal lands. From media reports, an HRM Councillor has stated that HRM staff were forced to sign non-disclosure agreements before any discussion began. Therefore, they couldn't inform the Wanderers or the Bengal Lancers. In any event, NDA or not, the Province is the level of government that wants to do the taking in this case and they should have reached out to the Wanderers and the Bengal Lancers. But they didn't. Now this may impact both operations. If the parkade and heating plant construction proceeds, which I have no doubt it will, the Museum of Natural History will be boxed in and completely overwhelmed by the new infrastructure. So not only will the Wanderers and the Bengal Lancers be impacted, but also the Museum. Instead of impacting three good organizations, I would suggest that since the Museum is under the ownership of the Province, the Museum is getting close to 40 years old, it is dated, and too small for the growing HRM, then I believe that the Museum should be temporarily relocated, a new Museum be built, and the site vacated by the Museum be used for the new parkade. This way, the Wanderers and Bengal Lancers won't be impacted, and the Museum will be allowed to modernize and expand in a better location.

I know that Odunze did not have Canadian citizenship at the time he started playing for the US. From what I understand, he has since acquired it, but by then he was probably too entrenched in the American system.

    Let's bump this thread.
    1) He missed the U-20 World Cup with the USA (due to injury)
    http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/05/22/la-galaxys-julian-araujo-replaces-ayo-akinola-us-u-20-world-cup-squad
    2) Like Alphonso Davies, Ayo Akinola is a 2000. Tokyo 2020 is 97's and younger. Paris 2024 will be 01's and younger. The next U-20 tournament is also 01's and younger. Therefore if he doesn't make the U23 team with somebody this spring it means that it's the end of the road for youth football for him.
    3) Since the U-20 World Cup in May/June the US has held some U23 camps:

I could not find Ayo's name on any roster.

    4) Does his career trajectory look like he will play for Nigeria or the USA at the senior level in the next 4 years?
I think a one-time switch and going all-in on Canada U23 and hoping to be a part of the senior #CanMNT in the long term is the best option this young man has at the moment.

Yes yes, no Davies. Not because he's not performing well or anything, but because he only started to get the minutes in October. I like to take the WHOLE year into consideration. Yes, I'm aware his situation is harder than most.

David has made himself a key player for Gent and making a name for himself to the world.
Kaye was a solid contributor to a very strong LAFC season, plus made the all star team.
Laryea came out of no where and made an impact for TFC down the flank. I don't like how he got benched during the playoffs, but even like that his playoff performances is the reason why tfc managed to get into the finals.

So it looks like I will be making the trip. @Forever A Team might be joining me. Working on getting access to a 3 bedroom time share at a resort in Kissimmee, 40 minute drive from the stadium. Has 5 beds and sleeps 8 people. Would be totally open to turning this into a Voyageur's room. Looking at Thursday and Friday night. Shoot me a message whoever is interested.

    Welcome @BarrieCityFC
Best advice I can give you regarding starting supporters group is just to get involved in as much local soccer as you can. Meet people with that similar interest and start spreading the word. Some people will gravitate to it, other will ignore you. Don't force it on those people or worry about them. Those that are interested will give your group the passion it needs to grow and succeed.

So CPL next season for Levis? A year back on the island before a Saskatchewan team comes on board? Or does that make too much sense to actually happen.

Just back from the match tonight. Was very impressed with the Caps' work ethic....they showed they haven't given up. So many Canadians involved with Bair, Teibert, Crepeau, and Cornelius starting and then Henry and Ricketts subbed in to make it a half-dozen. It wasn't always pretty but there was a lot of everything in the game from amazing saves at both ends, a classic and largely ineffective villain in Rooney, and a surprisingly lenient referee which played into the hands of the home team tonight. Was impressed overall...it's like they took themselves off of life support.

I think we should take Paulus's comments with a grain of salt. He always talks up his players like they are world class but actions speaks louder than words, he says that Mortotsi is the best passer in the CPL but has only played him 4 times. I'm not saying that he is a bad player but I wouldn't take anything that this coach says really seriously.

Considering how they are calling the rule these days, I am kind of surprised there were no re-takes for encroachment, especially on some of Borjan's saves. I've seen penalties re-taken for less!
But happy they were not of course

Firstly stop talking about me in the third person. Seriously.
And stop putting words in other people’s mouths. U obv have  either a problem with me or Liam.  Not sure why or care.
Just try to not focus all ur player comparisons with Liam(and tabla). It’s seems to be your thing. I can list examples...
Tristan and Liam are actually good friends  they player together in the u20 qualifying Liam thinks Tristan is a top player...
Liam like all the other players is on a journey each specific to them and we will see where they go. Support them all and really hope for the best because honestly I don’t think anyone who’s not in it knows how hard it really is and how small the margins are...
No one treats me different. I just try to provide some personal insight and Info on my lad. If u notice I don’t comment ( try not to) on other players performance or route.
It’s people like you that want me to pull back again.. but I won’t because I like it here and the amazing community and history we are building.

But I keep on saying that HFX Wanderers is the model CPL club.  Great support, excellent facility, centrally located and great entertainment.  What’s there not to like.

Gales Valour reminds me of his 2015/2017 u20 teams.  Aside from the considerable overlap in players he seems to have almost too many similar players he’s trying to deploy at once.  He’s putting out so many attacking mids that he’s resigned the best player in the league to RB.  I don’t care how many attacking options you have, you can’t put the best player out of position and away from the play unless you’re absolutely running teams like Canada v USVI.  Valour has only  scored more than 1 goal once, I think.
This team has enough talent but too many guys in the same sort of roles IMO.  Get yourself a target up top, proper fullbacks, depth in the back and a little more bite in midfield and I think they’re set.  Bustos and Petrasso can be the best attacking combo in the league, even better than Bekker and Borges.
