It is more an observation but it is not exactly rocket science if you know your marketing...if you have a product (that of course being the Canada jersey) and your product is under a certain company that being a kit sponsor of Nike...your product of course is going to go through a boom period but then there are obviously going to be downturns in the economic market. Downturn being that Canada for the most part is not competing in any major tournaments right now. We are not in the middle of a Gold Cup or World Cup season so sales are going to be low right now. Boom period however starts when Canada is in the middle of a major tournament let's say a Gold Cup or a World Cup. Sales will only go up if the country qualifies for said tournament. However, the boom period can go one of 2 ways. If it is a Gold Cup yeah sure sales will be high but sales will only be higher if the country say qualifies for a World Cup. The price Canada pays for signing with Nike because Nike if anything cares about in case of a national team if said national team qualifies for a major tournament but if that major tournament is the World Cup, sales double even triple tenfold because of just how special of an event the World Cup is.

Exactly what I'm saying or what I've been trying to say that if Canada qualifies for the World Cup, jersey sales will improve. However, until then you just can't expect instantaneous results right away when it comes to jersey sales especially with Nike. Like come on, patience people!!!

don't mind the jerseys not the biggest Nike fan  but that's a separate issue, As far as sales go if Canada qualifies  for a World Cup or even has a decent Gold Cup  tourney you will see  sales move up

If the team performs and let's say qualifies for the World Cup it will sell its jerseys who ever the supplier is I would assume.

Having talented players on the bench to push the starters is the way to be.  Wouldn't be surprised if signing Segawa was done with an eye to the near future.  Another year like last or better from Abzi and I could see him moving elsewhere.  Especially with the CPL playing during the European off-season, Segawa would step right in should a mid-season transfer occur.

But people well pundits are mostly surprised but mainly because they didn't expect Canadian soccer to come this far especially to the point of CanPL even being what it has become but just the level of play in that league

No way he and his agent would go for that especially to play in Canadian Premier League, no David has played in Europe playing against probably the best competition, against some of the best in the world. He wouldn't want to play in the CPL because if anything it would feel like a demotion whereas if he stays in Europe or even goes to MLS he at least goes up against elite level superstars day in, day out. CPL at best he wouldn't be playing against elite level superstars/world class talent. If anything it would be too easy for a star of his caliber.

If we want to go to Qatar we have to  play who ever we are lined up against and get points against them  plus we have to play the big three Mexico USA and Costa Rica at some point  and we have to try and get points off them  simple as that

It only looks easier because he changed who we would play if they did groups based on Rank if they do a proper draw going right of rankings the groups would be.
    Group A                Group B               Group C
    1. Mexico              2. USA               3. Costa Rica
    6. El Salvador      5. Honduras      4. Jamaica
    7. Canada            8. Curaçao         9. Panama
    12. Antigua          11. Trinidad       10. Haiti

You can’t just manipulate the pools to make it look great for Canada if this is the format. The only other way it could be different if they use this format is if they do a random draw with 4 pots of 3 teams where Canada would be in Pot 3,

Here’s a wcq format that can wrap up quickly:
take the 35 teams, put them into 2 groups of 12, one of 11.
First match day: eliminate bottom 4 (12 group) or 3 teams (11 group) to get down to 3 groups of 8. Then do a straight knockout round in each section, no crossover. The winner of each section goes to the World Cup. The 3 second place teams play in a knockout tournament where the winner goes to the intercontinental playoff.
    September: early round
    October: quarter finals
    November: semi finals
    March 2021: finals
June- September 2021 play the 3 team knockout tournament of 2nd place teams. Concacaf can also fit in the nations league finals in the fall of 2021 which they have stated they want to play. Maybe they can find a way to get in the rest of the gold cup qualifying games that have also been cancelled because this format only takes up 10-12 match days.

  25. Thanks

Well now Napoli eh, that would be nice, being a life long Napoli fan having him go there would be sweet. Moreover, Telelatino , which shows live Seria A games usually always shows Napoli games. But wouldn’t be the first Canadian to have played there.
