  1. We have an 1812FC sub forum up.

I would like to sit down one day and write my experiences of how all this came about as it's quite an unusual story.

This probably explains it better than I can.

It all started from a post on reddit about how I would love to see a team in Barrie.I got a response from Jacob,we started a petition, from that we got an article in the local paper. That lead to an interview on CBC radio which in turn lead us to a few other stories on various online media.

We needed advice so we reached out to Andrew and the rest is history.

  2. I just wanted to come back to my very first post. Its been a whirlwind time since we kicked this into motion. It started just as a dream, we never expected to get this far so early.I am so overjoyed that we now have a club and Julian DeGuzman as a co-owner.It all started from one post on reddit, unbelievable.

It’d be awesome if they could get any of the SPL, Ligue 1, Liga Nos, Irish League or a combo of these. Outside of the French league, I doubt they’d cost that much but it would add some content and there are a lot of people in Canada with connections to each of these countries. Maybe not the best to watch, but from a business perspective, the Indian Super league might make a lot of sense.

I would love to see the League of Ireland on onesoccer, it would be cheap tv rights and make great filler content.Canadian Kris Twardek is a stand out playing for Bohemians.League of Ireland is starting back on July 25th.

  4. Hello guys, I hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to ask a hypothetical question about one soccer.

I am originally from Ireland and I grew up watching my local Irish soccer league called the League of Ireland which comprised of a 2 tiered system, the Premier League and the First Division. Its not and extremely high level of soccer but its pretty comparable to the CPL and I have watched many great games. Ben Fisk played for Derry City and at the moment Kris Twardek plays for bohemians.
My question is with a streaming service like one soccer needing content to broadcast  and the League of Ireland having very cheap broadcast rights, would anyone watch it if it were broadcast on onesoccer ?

    Thanks

Linfield, Glentoran, Cliftonville, Distillery, Crusaders, Glenavon, Shamrock Rovers, Shelbourne, St Patrick's Athletic, Home Farm and Bohemians in both parts of the island of Ireland as well. Names like that are part of the early history of our sport but I think it's a valid criticism that having the city name in there is important in the North American sports environment when you are a niche product struggling for visibility.

ahh a Irish football fan.I am a Shelbourne fan and my Dad still writes for their program.

What are the 2 clubs from British football who don’t take their name from their geographic entity? Crystal Palace is one. What’s the other?

Arsenal and Port Vale. There are other teams that are named after a location within the city like Queens Park Rangers, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Everton to name a few.

  7. Hello guys and sorry if this has been covered in another post but I would like to get the support of Canada's soccer community. After a lot of hard work it looks like ours dreams are becoming a reality and we are doing a virtual launch of 1812FC named after the roll Barrie played in the war of 1812. We will be having an online press conference where you are all invited. Our launch date June 18th is the day the war started.
This has been a labor of love and hopefully it will give people something to look forward to after the crazy 2020 we all have had to deal with. I would also like to thank all the support and well wishes we have received from members of this forums, I am humbled by the amount of people that helped us along the way.

I am sorry that I cant answer too many questions until the big reveal on Thursday.
    Regards
    Ronan

  8. Hello guys, I am trying to do some research and fact finding on the league. I was wondering about attendances. What would you guys say the average attendance at games are? Who has the highest and lowest attendances? What is the highest attendance you have seen at a L1O game.
    Thanks in advance.
