Given the volume of games in such a short period of time, if we want to not see a drop in quality in any of the games, then we need to bring all the quality we can, specially for wide players, as neither of our wingers will be able to play all 90 for every single game.

We don’t play with wingers though. We have wingbacks.. and Millar isn’t one. The role Millar can play is as a late sub to be a ball of energy in a forward role.

He’s really good when he’s not injured - arguably the most dangerous player in concacaf. I still don’t get why England didn’t call him.

He’ll have to show he can actually be dangerous in CONCACAF before that’s arguable.

Not necessarily, if Kennedy is injured, I would rather have Halbouni over Cornelius. Respectfully of course. He’s training and playing under a top tier club

Well I’m sure you would. No offence but it’s pretty obvious you know the player. It doesn’t matter that he’s attached to a certain club (which isn’t top tier anyhow). He’s playing at a low level and Canada isn’t playing friendlies anytime soon. If we weren’t in WCQ then maybe I’d agree.

Cornelius is more experienced and has played at a higher level through his entire pro career to date.

If is because they have to plan before tickets go on sale.  As we know in the past the upper decks have not always been open for Canada games. Maybe due to the increased interest in the team and tickets as this campaign proceeds consideration will be given to moving it up above.

That was in the past. The upper decks have been open for all Canada games thus far due to social distancing.

You mean the guy who’s played like 3 games this month had poor touches ? Like are we serious with some of this stuff. How are we criticizing a kid who’s burning in a dumpster fire.

Yes, he didn't have good touches. He's a professional. We don't need to look at everything with rose coloured glasses - sometimes we can be objective and honest.

Ballou Tabla hadn't played a game in 6 months and scored a brace.

  6. A few great crosses - doesn’t matter if this is against York or Man City.. his delivery was on the money. With his speed and solid service he could definitely be a Canada player. I don’t think he’s there just yet but he can there.

I think he was a little hard done by this season at TFC. He did well in the CCL (great cross to Altidore 30 seconds into the season) and had a nice assist in the second leg. Then he did well against NYCFC but wasn’t relied on as much as he should have been as poor team performances lead TFC to rely on veterans who continued to disappoint (crazy how that’s an organizational trend in this clubs history).

I would agree , LFC would have to be on top of any transfer list. The question I have is how high will the transfer fee potentially go, is he close to being a 100M player? Will be interesting.

No. He's not even close to being a 50M player IMO.

Tomori started at Chelsea. He was going to be on England's radar sooner or later.

This. He didn't appear on England's radar because of a performance in a U20 friendly... he debuted for Chelsea at 18 years old a few weeks later in the Prem.

Thing is he is….call ups should be based on form. But like the CWNT when Herdman was coach, it was basically the same team all the time.

Now I’m not mad at that, it just makes it harder for a guy like Waterman, or even ZBG, to make the squad.

We should be increasing the squad number, increasing the gelling/camaraderie opportunities and making the national team less cliquey…but who am I to say that.

I don't think that's accurate at all. Even with a small sample size Herdman has called in a ton of players since he's taken over. Of course with big matches he's going to stick with his core squad that has been working. Who would you drop for Waterman at this stage? And even if you did think that player was droppable why is Waterman ahead of Cornelius/James/Sturing as well?

Waterman is a project - he will get better but the fact he didn't get a cap against Cayman Islands and Sturing was preferred to him for June and the Gold Cup says something.
