I remember Vanney blasting the CSA because he couldn't count Ayo as Canadian content for the Voyageur's Cup, not because the CSA wasn't doing enough to convince him to play for Canada.
    Whatever served his purpose.

This the relevant part I remember.
Ayo Akinola scored his first senior goal for Toronto FC on Wednesday night with coach Greg Vanney, taking off his American hat, campaigning post-game for the Canadian Soccer Association to get moving and woo the 18-year-old forward into the Canadian fold.

I think Okello needs to show TFC brass that this level is too low for him though first.  He may not develop but he still needs to blow the doors off if his stay at TFC II is for a couple more games.

He had already agreed to sign with Pacific when he signed with the D7 team, this was just for conditioning, an opportunity to get minutes during COVID.  He also played a game with Northern Ireland's U19 team in qualifying.

Agree, Sturing has to be playing minutes at a higher level before he is called back.

Sturing in my opinion is not good enough for the big games.
I think the coaching staff likes him, but he didn't get into the Suriname game or either Haiti game, which is telling.
I would rather Vitoria, but if he can't go for whatever reason, I would take Cornelius or Waterman.

    1. Joseph Holliday: Keeper 2021 FC Edmonton, Canada Tier 1.  FC Edmonton academy product

As far as I know he is the first 2005 to sign with a professional team, if you have others I will add to the list.
We should see a lot of 2004s and 2005s pop up in the next year or so.

I'll post two predictions, mine and one based on transfermarkt values.
    Transfermarkt                                   Mine
    1. Cavalry FC                                        1. Forge FC
    2. Forge FC                                          2. Cavalry FC
    3. Pacific FC                                        3. Atletico Ottawa
    4. FC Edmonton                                  4. Valour FC
5 Valour FC                                         5. Pacific FC
    6. Atletico Ottawa                              6. HFX Wanderers
    7. HFX Wanderers                              7. FC Edmonton
    8. York United                                    8. York United
I think it will be tight up and down the standings, the success (or lack of) of the internationals signings could balance the scale for many teams.
I pick Cavalry for the Northern Shield.

As of next Wednesday in Ontario, outdoor sporting events can have a capacity of 25%, which at BMO Field would be 7,500 fans in the stands. Capacity levels certainly will come into play when the CSA decides to choose where to play.  Stage 3 capacity in Ontario has yet to be announced. All that has to get sorted out is the border and in my eyes everything else falls into place.

I feel like Davies playing here is the spark of passion that this team needs. The story is no longer about Will Johnson saying "ugh, too much travel, I'll pass" or others saying "I want to focus on my club". This is a guy saying "Hell yes I'm in! Let's win this!"
    I like it.

I read somewhere that teams will be allowed to sign 4 u18s on developmental contracts on top of the current 23 man roster, they count against the salary cap, looks like FC Edmonton are the first by signing 16 year-old keeper Joseph Holliday from their academy.
