Let's hope Cavallini makes the striker decisions difficult for JH.

Ha no way! I am a McMaster graduate in Commerce from about 10 years ago and he was running the faculty.
I got to play intramural soccer with him. Uber-competitive and a good player as well. Super high energy guy; always very kind and positive. Didn't even realize he was the VP of the CSA.

It really is worth giving this a listen, some real excitement from Nick after the FIFA decision, he  feels Davies helped sway the vote and expects us to get automatic qualification but we probably won't know for at least 2 years!

scooterlawrence5 got a reaction from Free kick in Camp Poutine 2021 @ IMG in Florida Jan 9 -24
I think we need to appreciate that having our best players available (and healthy) for March qualifiers is far more important than having a camp in January with a small sample of the actual team.
Indeed, we all would love to watch more footy and have the national team play all the time.  I agree that more games and more camps is always better.
BUT, we need to think smartly.  In this unprecedented pandemic environment, with the increased risk of our players and staff getting sick while travelling, plus the significant financial constraints I'm sure the CSA is suffering from, let's just hope (and pray) we put our best team forward in March!  I guarantee that JH is laser-focused on March.  Without two guaranteed wins vs Bermuda and Cayman, it's all over anyway.

The importance of not playing friendlies hurting us on the pitch has been over done here. Mainly because the three nations in our group haven't played any either. And the first match is vs Bermuda which I view as a comfortable way to get back playing together.
Of more import would be having our starters in good form at their clubs in Jan to March. Or just having Davies & David in decent form should be sufficient.
Having a January poutine camp is of more benefit for Olympic qualifying and Gold Cup. Only marginal benefit for WC qualifying.
The women not playing friendlies is a bigger issue since they have the Olympics next summer with a new manager. Plus, they have Own the Podium money to offset costs.

I know I gave your post the little “thanks” trophy, but seriously - thanks.  It is great to have the update and know that this hasn’t been sitting in limbo as a concept.  I appreciate that this is a side hustle (that doesn’t pay) so finding the time is always a challenge.  From the sounds of things, there is an appetite among “the membership” to be involved.

I appreciate the questions and I hope I can answer all of them however not everything is finalized so I may not have all the information.
As many of you know and have already mentioned, Jamie (@admin) has worked diligently, at much personal cost, to bring the Voyageurs to where they are now. Feeling that it was time for our loose knit group to take next logical step he approached a group of us who know and trust each other about formalizing the Voyageurs as an entity. We’ve been meeting regularly and are trying to lay the foundation for the future by making sure all legal requirements are up to date and some basics around roles and responsibilities are established with the goal of running an election for an inaugural Board of Directors in the near future. We’re at the point now where we’re almost ready to share our work with the broader group here and we’re planning on distributing a survey to garner feedback about what the organization should look like and where it should be headed. We’re also planning to host an online event in the near future where we will announce plans and answer questions. We all have full time jobs and families so we're moving slowly but we'll get there.
As for the moderation of this site, myself and @JamboAl where made admins recently. I don't know the other admins or whether they still visit this site. I know Jamie has been quite busy these days and so I offered to take on the responsibility. I don't suspect @JamboAl will have much time to dedicate as I know he's quite busy himself. I also have a lot going on in my life so I'll try to answer all questions in do time.
    Hope that helps.

It's quite simple actually.  According to Canada Soccer's rules and regulations available on their website, any adult with a "background police check" can be nominated for a position on the CSA Board of Directors. Elections take place each year at the Annual Meeting which are normally held in May.  COVID wiped out 2020's Annual Meeting. There will be another one in May 2021. A call for nominations is typically posted in January each year. Then a nominee runs a campaign to generate support from voters across the country.  Voters are called "members" and include professional clubs (CPL and MLS), coaches, referees, national team players, and presidents of provincial associations.

SO, who from the Voyageurs wants to prepare for a CSA director nomination in January?

False. Such a friendly was never planned, and nothing was ever officially announced. If you're really trying to be "logical", then you would realize all the subsequent points you're trying to infer follow from a non-existent/false premise...

We need NEW money coming into Canada from external partners.  Investors from France would be welcomed.  So would investors from Germany, England and Italy too.  The more investors from big-time clubs we get, the stronger support we have for the CPL in the long-run.

I think if the CSA were bloody minded enough to do it, they could.  But with the current situation here and in Europe, I'm neither overly disappointed nor surprised; more just resigned to the situation.

I'm not surprised the CSA went with Priestman given her previous connection to the program and its players as well as the fact that England is going in a new direction too.
I was not impressed with Priestman's results at the youth level (especially the 2018 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship) and think she was fortunate to have Huitema in all her squads.
That being said, I am pleased that the CSA didn't promote Wilkinson to the top job...at least not yet.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the England FA cancelled an expected game for Tuesday due to COVID.

I expect that this will have implications for the men's side too.
Unfortunately, the pandemic continues to disrupt international football.
