    Montreal = OUT
    Edmonton = WILL BE OUT
    Vancouver = WILL COME BACK IN
    Toronto = WAS ALWAYS IN
    RESULT: 5 games at BC Place + 5 games at BMO Field
    Victor Montagliani and Nick Bontis still have lots of work to do with FIFA to salvage Canada as official co-host.

    I've seen video on him and have spoken to scouts who track him.  They all agree, simply, he's not good enough for Canada right now.  Radnički Niš can keep him for awhile.  If he improves, maybe.  But I just don't see it.  Assess him yourself.  There are way too many players ahead of him at his age who are eligible for Canada right now.  He was never among the top players in Ontario for his age group while he was here let alone in Canada.  He wouldn't make the top provisional roster for U20s in Canada let alone U23s, and you can forget about the MNT regardless of what his dad thinks, that's just embarrassing. The CPL got it right.

    Ultimately this was the smartest decision regardless of what club you support.  Congrats to the leadership of Canada Soccer, Forge FC and Toronto FC for working together to make it happen which surely wasn't easy to do.  The good news is that we can look forward to watching a great match when the weather is nicer and there are fans in the Tim Horton's stands!

    Not good if Ottawa struggles.  Let's remember that Atletico Madrid is backing them.  We want Atletico to be "very delighted" with their CPL investment so that it attracts $$$ from other HUGE European clubs.

    You can watch U15 Concacaf Championships at this link below.  Canada beat Mexico 2-0.  The game featured 2004s.  These players will be 22 years old in 2026.
    I've watched the full Concacaf game many times.   Based on performance during this match strongest players were:
    Jean-Aniel Assi (Montreal) 10/10 was a strong winger and Canada's most dominant threat Dino Bontis (Toronto) 10/10 earned the shutout as the #1 with great shot-stopping and even better distribution Nathan Saliba (Montreal) 9/10 creative attacking midfielder with mobility Matteo Campagna (Vancouver) 8/10 steady "stay at home" defender Loic Cloutier (Montreal) 7/10 defused Mexico attacking threats Hugo Mbongue (Toronto) 6/10 good size and hold-up play Jahkeele Stanford-Rutty (Toronto) 6/10 nice touch but often invisible and not threatening Joshua Gordon (Toronto) 5/10 often beat by Mexico's Cruz down the wing, weak positioning/defending (2005) Jordan Lemos (Toronto) 5/10 was steady as midfielder but often held on to possession far too long VIDEO LINK (FULL MATCH - HD QUALITY):

    The worse thing that could happen is Canada spreads itself too thin to play U23s in Guadalajara (while also playing MNT in WC qualifiers) and then Dick Pound cancels the Olympics right after .

    For the better part of the last 100 years there has been no professional soccer of a credible level on mainstream media in North america.  Ok there has been a couple of games here and there during world cup qualifying but even then, soccer was not on the lanscape on a consisitent basis.   In the UK its the opposite, its a daily / weekly topic of discussion.
    What this means is that the british (through 100 years) have forged the template on how the game needs to be described and called.  There is a reason why most of the terminolgy and vocabulary and phrases are different between the europeans and north americans on broadcasts and thats not always because of cultural differences.   Alot of difference are inherant to to the game of soccer and understanding the game.   For example, there is a very valid reason why a certain term or adjective or phase or even style (that we associate as British) is more pertinent in a soccer broadcast than it would be on a hockey broadcast.

    Too many Canadian announcers (NOT ALL MIND YOU) will obviously fall back on the hockey template  on how to call and describe a game.   And in my opinion,  i have alluded to this topic many times here over the years,  thats a problem because it could stunt the growth of the growth of the game in North America.  You will stunt the growth of the game in canada if you always look at soccer through the prism of Hockey.  I could go at great lenghts with examples of this.

    There have been some good canadian soccer broadcasters.  Those who know how to call and decsribe a game the right way.  I like the whitecaps team on TSN.  I also like the guy on TSN radio before he left to go do the Sabres broadcasts.  But other than that, i am fearfull of the prospects of putting the empahsis on getting more canadians behind the mic.

    As for your point about the CPL as a breeding ground.   I would say to that that CPL at all levels (ie.: on the field, off the field, in teh boardrooms...etc) has got a very long way go before its at standard and level in order to contribute anything meaningfull to the growth of the game, growth of the talent, or mainstream success of soccer in canada.   For evidence, you Just have to watch that CCL game between Forge and that Haitian pub league side.  Or even watch the CPL final and look at the quality and talent on display.
