Another ESPN article up yesterday with a long discussion  about USMNT needs for 2021-22 including finding a striker that lists just about everyone except Akinola. Hopefully he’s read it.

I should know better than reply.
Tajon is a very good player he has 3 goals in 33 games  with NE REV in the MLS one season
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tajon_Buchanan
I see no hype on Liam btw. I see a player that has worked very hard moved up the ranks he has his own pathway...
He moved to the UK at 13 rose though the ranks at Fulham scoring 65 goals to be the top scorer in the UK at u16 winning two national championships. While at Fulham he played for the u16 Canadian national team at 14 in the Montague tournament under Sean Fleming. Moves to Liverpool fc U16s after turning down 5 epl clubs. He then played for Canada again at U20 ( Concacaf qualifying with Rob Gale) continuing to play for LFC u18s scoring a Hat trick  on his debut  he scored 15 goals and 18 assists that year
He then makes his debut for the senior men’s team at 18 in a man of the match performance vs New Zealand.
    https://www.canadasoccer.com/profile/?id=6079&teamId=2078
He played in the UEFA youth league where he scored 5 goals and 4 assists in 10 games

At 18 he then goes on loan to the SPFL to Kilmarnock where he struggles in a very poor side (with lots of turmoil behind the scenes) to get consistent numbers but does well enough to be near to top the league in dribbles and take on and running with the ball amassing 3 goals and 4 assists in 33 games for Kilmarnock (the third goal was in the Scottish league cup I was there)
He is recalled to Liverpool FC and makes his Liverpool FC senior debut in the FA Cup vs Shrewsbury. He finishes that season before lockdown with 5 goals and 4 assists in 10 games for the u23s. He has interest from several clubs domestic and abroad but decides to stay at LFC to Captain of the. Liverpool FC reserves. He had 5 goals and 4 assists this season in 14games.
He decided to take a loan to league in after signing another 2 and a half year pro contract with Liverpool FC. His third pro contract with Liverpool FC

Everyone is on their own pathway but let’s throw it all away because a player has a good season in the MLS...

I should know better then to respond but I’m sick to death of it all to be really honest. The same shit happens with JD and Cyle  the amount of shit thrown at them too is staggering... Let the players grow and develop and be happy we have options and spend a little less time bashing....

What a run from him on that first goal. Definitely looks like he has gotten faster or more fit because I don't remember him making runs like that as much in the past.

Word out of Vancouver is Baldisimo is carrying some kind of injury so maybe just not available if he was in fact in the plans.
Exciting roster for a January get together.

Liam Millar is captaining Liverpool U23s against Southampton in Premier League 2 action. He's playing left wing. He rattled the bar from about 20 yards out on the 19th minute and has a few decent short runs and a couple of good passes, so far. It's nil-nil in the 29th minute, right now.
It's the first game at the Kirkby Academy since the first team moved in next door earlier in the week, and Jurgen Klopp is there to watch. Great opportunity for Liam to be seen in a week when 4-5 of his U23 teammates have been called up to first-team training.
42nd minute, Liam broke through off the left-wing, but the 'keeper stopped him one-on-one. Jurgen was on his feet for that one!
    Half-time - nil-all.
Steven Hunter and Chris Kirkland, the in-house commentators for LFCTV are raving about Liam during the half-time break and suggested that Jurgen and his coaching team have been on their feet every time he's made a run down that left-wing, which happens to be the side where they're sitting. Positive signs.

soccer.shocker reacted to red card in USA National Team Watch
Wales & US played to a 0-0 friendly today in Swansea. Wales fielded players nearly all from the Championship as they have a Nations League match this weekend. US didn't have Pulisic and MLS (ex one).
I just kept an eye on it as the 3 Euro playoff matches took precedence. The harshest evaluation I heard was from Lalas who gave the US a 6/10. Fotmob only rated Steffen higher than 7. NBC gave 8s to Dest, Brooks, McKennie & Musah. CBS main takeaway was that McKennie, Adams & Musah looked good in passing and understanding each other. The Mirror noted Bale was caught on camera in the stands with a laptop - likely watching the Masters since the football match was utterly forgettable. The overly optimistic American supporters were very happy with seeing the individual skills on display but given no goals, they blamed GGG for playing with no true striker.
My view of the Americans is that a young starting eleven not surprisingly played with much more vigour, impetus & energy than Wales. Though, American sports teams tend to play everything in first gear while Euro nations rarely get out of second gear in a friendly. GGG was even high fiving subs coming in while the replacement Wales manager rarely got out of his seat.
Americans dominated in possession but didn't know what to do when in the final third. The passing wasn't quick enough and there was no incisive and tight passing. Only good chance came off a sloppy back pass. GGG system employs a high press, high back line and playing out of the back. The high press was good in the 1st half but petered out in the 2nd. High line seemed vulnerable at times to counters. Good enough system and execution to break down most Concacaf nations but against a typically well organized Euro team, even if it was a B version, the US was the one that broke down in the final third and to some degree in the second half.
For individual players, Dest & McKennie looked the most notable in attack but no end product delivered. Reyna without Haaland looked sluggish. Back line wasn't really challenged but they and defensive mids looked good in moving the ball.

It is so painful to watch Gonzalez and Ciman this season. Dreadful most nights. More painful to think of the salaries. How can Dunn not get his chance next season?! Would be hard to Be worse than those two geezers are.

Henry should make Ballou watch Jaeden Nelson’s sub appearance for the last 10 minutes of TFC’s game tonight.   He didn’t change the result for them but it wasn’t due to a lack of effort.   That is what fresh legs should look like in the last 10 minutes of the game.
