    Older brother of Matteo ?

also is Araujo with the Mexicans ? He did switch… recruiting the duals was huge for them to secure their future, Flores, Araujo, Gonzalez and Alzarez are going to be key pieces, I’m really surprised they didn’t get Pepsi, that is a big loss for them but to be fair he doesn’t seem to have so much competition at striker with the USA.

Yes, Cristian is Matteo's older brother.

As for Araujo, he has officially switched to Mexico, but is not in their squad for this window.

League 1 plays through the break. I'm guessing his absence from England U19s is more about him staying with his club

Ah good point, I forgot about that. From what I can see there was only one League 1 player called to England U19 and his club fixture this week was postponed, so that probably explains it.

Likely to go to Marbella, Spain during the international break.

We will find out if he's in the England U19 squad on Friday at 7am Eastern time.

The England U19 roster was announced this morning. Jebbison is not on it. Probably doesn't mean he's suddenly decided to switch to us and play this window, but you never know!

Maybe I misinterpreted Jith12 comment. Thought he meant Costa said that he was disappointing in not getting a call. But that could've been the friends opinion. Now I'm not sure lol.

Sorry for the confusion, I should have been more clear. My friend was disappointed that Costa has never played for Canada because he believed that Costa had the quality to make a Canadian youth national team or at least be invited to a camp. I have no information about Costa's personal feelings or leanings as to which country he would prefer to represent.

  5. I have a friend who used to be a teammate of Costa. He told me about Costa last year and said that he was very surprised/disappointed that he had never attended a Canada national team camp. I don't know much else about him other than that he is one of Ontario's top talents in his age group.

As @Shway mentioned, an inter-league loan actually is a possibility for Fraser. The first example of an MLS inter-league loan that comes to mind is Lalas Abubakar. He couldn't break through with the Crew so he was loaned out to the Rapids this season. He was a regular starter and won their defender of the year award. Liam is in a similar situation. He is certainly good enough start in MLS, he is just finding it difficult to break through with TFC. I think that a loan to another MLS team would be a great option until there is more space at TFC.

It looks like that inter-league loan that I suggested for Liam a year and a half ago is finally materializing:

    What the actual fack.

I thought they are the wealthiest Caribbean country.

They left the test kits at home or forgot to hit the submit or send email button?

Well I mean the one positive is , it does not even say "tested positive for covid" ( make of that what you want I guess)

I didn't catch exactly what was said, but on the OneSoccer pregame show they mentioned something about the Caymans not getting their tests from a FIFA sanctioned testing centre. They likely couldn't get tests or test results from a sanctioned facility on time, leading to the postponement. As @spitfire mentioned, FIFA is very particular about protocol.

It looks as though Spezia has signed another keeper (Rafael).  In the game logs it seems Spezia dressed 3 keepers (Zoet, Rafael, Krapikas) but none were Desjardins... I wonder if his situation has changed?

Google had him listed as being on the bench, but the official Serie A match report does not. He was however one of the 25 players called up for the fixture, so he is still with the club.

Since a team can only dress 23 players in the matchday squad, he was likely one of the two left off.

It's confusing language but it seems like he was born in London, On which would make him eligible if it holds up

He does have a CSA profile, but his last name is misspelled, making it difficult to find.

    https://www.canadasoccer.com/profile/?id=4444

The profile also confirms that he was born in London, but unfortunately it's the one on the other side of the pond, not our one.

It's very unfortunate that he's not eligible to play for us competitively, but it's a good sign to see a Canadian academy produce a highly touted centre-back. Hopefully there are similar prospects in the pipeline that are actually eligible for us!

    Malik Owolabi-Belewu

Centre-Back currently with Toronto FC academy U-19's.

I realize that probably isn't the greatest source, but according to this website which details various Nigerian soccer players, he has been invited to train with Chelsea with a possibility of a transfer from TFC.  The article also goes on to say that he's also being looked at by R.S.C. Anderlecht of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

    https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=36427

I followed him on Instagram and it looks like he landed in England a few weeks ago and is training with a local football trainer.  Seems promising!

Owolabi is reportedly close to signing with S.P.A.L. in Italy's Serie B after impressing on trial.

  12. Marcelo Flores trained with the Arsenal first team for the first time today. He's also expected to be a regular with Arsenal U18 in the U18 Premier League this season.

Flores is currently committed to Mexico, but has not yet played in any competitive youth international matches for them, so he could theoretically still play for Canada without having to file a one time switch. He's very highly rated by Arsenal, so it could be a huge get for us if we can convince him to switch.

    2. Vitoria - Has scored a ton of penalties in his career. Has taken them for most clubs he's played for, despite being a center back (he played striker in his youth). Older player with a cool head to hopefully bail us out in the unlikely event David misses the first one.

I looked at Vitoria's penalty stats and they're incredible.

    https://www.transfermarkt.com/steven-vitoria/elfmetertore/spieler/54716

He's taken 12 pens in his pro career and scored every one. He also scored penalties against both Rui Patricio and Jan Oblak just over a week apart in 2013!
