  1. The only change I would suggest if we're truly trying to put the Best XI on the field is starting Hutchinson at CB instead of Cornelius and then putting Arfield at CM. Does anyone actually think Hutch would not be a better CB than Cornelius?
  2. That first highlight where David effortlessly glides through several players. Wow.
  3. Is there any reason Raheem Edwards hasn't received more consideration as a potential left back on Canada's Men's team? MDJ is getting up there in age and people are always talking about the dearth of talent in Canada's backfield. Edwards is a talented player with great pace who has some solid experience at LB in MLS. Based on this article and from what I've seen of him, he clearly has promise. He has also made 49 first team MLS appearances (many as a wing back) and scored 4 goals. He has to be better than many of the other LB options, right?
  4. http://www.pro7livestream.com/sat1/ Is this stream still covering the game? It seems like I’ve been watching German commercials for the last 20 minutes.
  5. There is no difference between a club's valuation and "how rich a club is." Club valuation tables are precisely how one determines which clubs are the richest. Assessing how rich a club is based on how much they spend on players, however, is the definition of conflation, and is not at all an appropriate metric in measuring the wealth of any club. Nevertheless, no matter what metric you choose to use, club valuation (the correct metric) or how much they spend on players (not even remotely a proper metric), they are at or near the top in Europe.
  6. They're the 4th most valuable club in the world. And they're worth approx. $600 million more than Man City, the 5th most valuable club (and the second most valuable EPL club). They're rich by any standard, not just by Bundesliga standards. Unlike other massive clubs, however, they avoid spending huge sums of money on one or two players. The most they've ever spent on a single player is 41.5 million Euros.
  7. I played with Justin Springer during my undergrad. He's a good player. Quick and technically sound. In my opinion, he's as good or better than some of the guys I played with who suited up for the CMNT not too long ago (Nana Attakora, Matt Stinson to name a few). I think St. Kitts will be a surprisingly strong squad.
  8. From yesterday. David pounces on a rebound to tie it up at 1-1 for the KAA Gent U21 side. Goal at 0:26.
  9. Takeaways: 1. Davies is always very threatening going forward. Playing him at left back reminds me of when Bale played left back in his Southampton/early Tottenham days. I get filling positional needs but I think you have to play your most dangerous players in positions where they can get on the score sheet; 2. Liam Millar is strong, fast and technically sound. He will be a huge contributor for a long time; 3. Teibert lacks the pace to play on the outside. He is best in a deep lying midfield role, but probably not good enough at that spot to crack Canada's best 11; 4. Hoile
  10. This is true. And he was recently named to the USL team of the week at right back. Showed great positional awareness and was dangerous going forward. Given the lack of depth at this position I think Herdman would be remiss not to consider him.
  11. Almost enough depth to field two semi-competitive teams. Except at right back, obviously (unless I'm missing someone). And I'm aware some of these players are slightly out of position. I think the first team is without question the strongest team Canada can field (except possibly at RB). First Team: Second Team: Larin Cavallini Tabla
  12. Currently in the 57th minute against Dallas. He is far and away the most dangerous and most exciting player on the pitch. His pace, especially his first step, is world class. As is his ability to wiggle out of tight spaces.
  13. You're so verbose and incoherent. It's the worst combination. It wouldn't be a big deal if you didn't post so frequently, but since you've started posting the quality of the forum has gone down significantly. And sometimes your statements are so obvious and cliched I think you're joking. But you're not. You're being 100% serious. "...will it be enough to compete with teams like USA, Mexico, Germany, France, Brazil, etc.? Only time will tell." Are you kidding me? Are you doing a promo? Who talks like that? Before posting again, ask yourself: "Does what I'm about to say contribu
