HFX Wanderers Season Thread 2019
Rintaran replied to Unnamed Trialist's topic in Canadian Premier League
Finally info on the match postponement for Forge's CONCACAF League run: -
I am also torn. I want Fury to lose because... Fury, but I want TFC to lose because... TFC. Best of both worlds, lets have a 2-0 Fury "victory" forcing PKs and then have 5-million or so rounds of PKs so whoever moves ahead to go up against Cavalry will just have finished this match's PKs and still be exhausted... Totally not going to happen (there's probably a limit to the number of PKs before they flip a coin), but Cavalry could use an advantage when they beat Montreal and go to the finals.

This is true, we'll have to wait for verification. You use a proper spreadsheet with formulas & cell referencing for keeping track of all this right? So it should be easy enough to change your weight chart reference and have the points update across the board? If not, let me know. I can put one together in excel and send it over. -
For friendlies, I'd call those attendances quite comfortable. Saskatoon has shown they can (at the very least) manage York9 / Pacific FC levels of support, when the matches don't matter. That tells me they could probably do better if they were in a league. Fingers crossed the series was able to attract the investors needed to make Saskatoon CPL a reality.

The Red and Green Show https://www.northernstartingeleven.com/latest-episodes/red-green-2/ The Red and Green Show is the unofficial official fan podcast which encompasses all things Cavalry FC. The podcast features guests who are connected with the CPL, upcoming opponents, as well as current Cavalry players. Cavilla just came out with episode #6 of this podcast this past weekend. I know there's another Cavalry podcast coming out soon on NSXI, will post the link once they go live. Also, both YouTube vidcasts AFC Curtis and CanPL Central are now podded. So

Honestly, my hope is they manage enough points so they can bypass the preliminary round in a couple of years. Any steps above that point, will all be bonus IMO. -
I actually really like this idea. Double-header men's & women's matches, but vary up so sometimes one is first, and sometimes the other. The L1OW, together with the PLSQF, has been a fantastic step for women's soccer. I look forward to seeing some further expansion of women's leagues across the country, and perhaps even at a D2 & D1 level.

The Red and Green Show is the unofficial official fan podcast which encompasses all things Cavalry FC. The podcast features guests who are connected with the CPL, upcoming opponents, as well as current Cavalry players. It is hosted by Joey Cavilla of Lethbridge, Alberta. Joey is a huge Juventus & Italian national-team supporter with a degree in political science from the Univeristy of Lethbridge. A current high school football coach, future teacher, and recreational soccer player, Joey is conversationally fluent in Spanish and looks to bring a fresh jump to Cavalry's course. Vie

I think they may have changed how they're doing the scoring moving forward, to make a more consistent system between the two leagues (and get rid of half-points). So all previous scores remain unchanged, but the amount of points granted from here on out reflect the new system (until they change it again). That said, it's also not 100% clear if those in the preliminary round count as participating in the tournament. It's possible there are 0 points for the prelimns. Unfortunately, we can't really know for sure until CONCACAF issues an updated table, which I don't think will happen unt -
2019 Canadian Premier League Attendance
Rintaran replied to CDNFootballer's topic in Canadian Premier League
*Looks at a map & tilts head* I must have missed something, because there's no way the Netherlands counts as Canada's geographical neighbour unless suddenly any country bordering an ocean is our geographical neighbour... -
The Quarterfinals have passed and only 4 clubs remain in the Canadian Championship. The battle for the Voyageurs Cup has lead to some fantastic ties, and with only more excitement to come, it can only get better. Being in its inaugural year the Canadian Premier League (CanPL) clubs are getting their first taste of cup action, and their first swing at the Voyageurs Cup. With three CanPL clubs making it to the quarterfinals, they did not disappoint. York9, Cavalry FC, and HFX Wanderers had the rest of the league at their backs. They put on a spectacle and proved their worth against MLS

To the fans? It really shouldn't. May as well play against Timbuktoo and Whereareyou. To the FO, sure does. As the sole Canadian Team in the USL, they have a couple things they get to play off of: Direct line toward the MLS. Teams in the MLS, especially affiliate teams, look to the USL first to fill back bench positions. The direct affiliate provides a visible link to a pro contract Chest-thumping Canada vs USA action. As the only Canadian Team, Fury get to claim they're fighting back the American behemoth. That thrill we get whenever we beat the

This is my issue precisely. I spend much of my soccer-browsing time on a computer, not a phone.

“Time to sit back and unwind” Summer is finally here and League 1 Ontario is another five games down in the regular season with five left to go and the playoff picture is looking clearer despite some surprising results. Alliance still topping the table Alliance are miraculously still on top with the same record over this period as the first with four wins and a draw. Their strong, defence first approach is working wonders, with the team only conceding in two games all season. However, this does affect the other side of things, and whilst not having a bad goalscoring record, they

5 Things Valour FC Need to Figure Out this Month
Rintaran posted a topic in Article & Video Comments
There is no way to sugar-coat it: Valour FC’ spring season was an utter disaster, and despite the team being a relatively young group of players that are still gelling together and finding their feet, there isn’t much excuse for the way things finished. In a league where most of the teams are on par and matches are extremely close, losing 6 games in a row is extremely alarming, and is a sign of major problems. Luckily, Valour get a fresh start for the fall season, but we cannot act as if this team will somehow click together at some point if they keep doing what they’re doing – changes ne -
