You are not a troll because you state your arguments, you are a troll because you have like half an idea, poorly explained, you rant on and on about it, you act like you are the consubstantiation of the almighty judge of humanity, and then whine like a bitch when the majority disagree with you.
Considering the majority on the Voyageurs is the extreme minority in Canadian sports culture, that is not being ganged up on. That is you taking on a few dozen marginal characters on the edge of mass soccer culture in Canada because, for once, for the first time in history maybe, we have taken a bit of control and are getting our way. Until now, you have gotten your way 100%, so man up and stop acting like a child: this is the first time those of your opinion have ever lost in a Canadian soccer context and you are bitching uncontrollably about it.

Because everyone loves my secondary ticket analysis...869 tickets are currently on Stubhub (not a lot).  In terms of tickets sold..
834 tickets sold...284 of them in the Mexico supporter area....102 in the upper bowl.
Basically what I'm getting at is I am sure there are a very large amount of Mexican fans who got around the Canadian billing address stuff (and who knows if they enforce it if you actually call Ticketmaster itself), but the worries of there being 5-7K tickets re-sold on the secondary market to Mexicans is not even remotely a problem at this point, even in the upper bowl.
This crowd could be rather seriously pro Canadian.

I'm not sure why people are surprised about Haber. He's not going to score a bag full of goals, but he has skills that other forwards on this team don't possess in abundance.
    Here's the case for Haber:
has been in many camps so he knows Floro and the program he is a central forward. The only other one we have is Larin. is a regular starter at a decent level (League One) probably the best aerial threat on the team better hold up play than Larin, Akindele, etc. Of those last two traits, the former is useful for set pieces, especially when you're chasing the game, and the latter is a useful skill-set to have when absorbing pressure and defending a lead.
I won't be happy if he starts but there is absolutely a place for him in a 23-man squad.

Shocked that James and Haber have been called. Assuming both true this is how I see the roster playing out (Floro's picks, not mine)

    Strikers- Larin, Haber
Mids- Hoilett, Hutchinson, Arfield, Johnson, Akindele, de Guzman, Ricketts, Piette, Kianz, Teibert
Backs- Edgar, de Jong, Aird, Straith, James, Vitoria, Jakovic, Ledgerwood
    Keepers- Borjan, Stamatopoulos, Crepeau

Honestly, what I like about Canadian soccer is that I can meet fellow supporters from other cities, and by the end of the night feel like I've known them for years. So far I've met folks based in Edmonton, Medicine Hat, Regina and Saskatoon, and I'm sure those in other cities are of the same ilk.

The majority (I dare say vast majority) of people who've bought tickets in our section have not read, and never will read, this thread. I love the idea of complex chants and songs as much as anyone, but the reality is that to have any meaningful impact on match day, whatever's being sung or chanted in the section has to be simple and readily recognizable to as many people as possible.
When there's 30 of us on a road trip to whatever, esoteric stuff works great and creates wonderful memories for those involved. I know, I've been there. But if we're going to make the most out of selling thousands of tickets and creating an environment, then it's not about going super-nerdy for the sake of it. It's about doing things that will attract those thousands of people, not alienate them--and create a wall of sound that can hopefully assist the Canadian team (which is kinda the whole point, right?)
Because if the people in the supporters section (the majority who aren't reading this thread) feel included and have a great time, they might visit the forum and be part of future threads of this sort. But if they feel like it's "just something those people in the first few rows are doing", they won't.

So that makes the BMO experience so much greater than anywhere else in the country?  Not trying to troll ya but just trying to understand.
I could care less about hardcore supporters who might appreciate (whatever the differences are (beside the turf)  I think more about the newcomers and general audience who will grow the game rather than a few hundred (thousand) guys who want to stand behind the net.  If they're as good of supporters as they claim they'll always be there.  It's the general public attending one/two games a year who create sellouts.

You were saying I was ignoring that it was soccer specific, I'm just wondering if that really matters.
Does being specifically built for soccer (despite being nowhere near the best stadium) in the country entitle it to be the National Soccer Stadium.  Does that alone make it worthy even if we have better facilities (before the BMO upgrade)
Aside from the turf and possibly some hardcore supporters behind the net what actual differences are there in a SSS and non SSS stadium that make BMO better (or more suited).  That is what I get you are implying, maybe I'm wrong on that.

So you went to the Honduras match and felt that you paid too much?  Well, I don't know what you expected?  We won and played rather well.  And yet, you bought another ticket for the Mexico game.  And so, let's say we sneak a draw or maybe, a win, will you have paid too much then as well?  I don't really know what you want except for his removal from office and what I perceive as a personal vendetta against Mont Pete.
And if you think you did pay too much, there are/were cheaper tickets than $65 each...

They have more than attendance to consider. Not that any arrangement or agreement can't be bent or broken but the CSA had one with BMO Field when they called it the National Stadium on game days.
And yes travel would be a consideration. I'll get ready for the "attendance success vs Mexico in a later round" talk to die down this summer and wait till they actually announce the host city for the El Salvador match before getting to deep into what "should" happen.

Funny I was thinking that as well, just a few minutes ago while reading the artificial turf thread.  My belief is it will hang on how the game goes with Mexico.  We do well, I see your scenario, we don't, and it's likely back to BMO.
I can't see keeping going back to Vancouver though unless they see it as a lucky, momentum kind of thing.  The traveling distance could be an issue.

Can't see the CMNT playing in Toronto this round.  Can't expect the CSA to schedule a game in TO when Vancouver just broke an attendance record and we struggle to get 15000.

I think it'll be over 40K. Last week the CSA announced over 32K sold. I've been tracking ticketmaster everyday and the upper bowl seats keep moving. With a month and a half to go still lots of time to push over 40K.
