  1. I don't know about the other two, but one of them is a complete wanker and doing a horrible job. You're right though, he's a lawyer, but I can't imagine how he passed a bar exam.
  2. I think FIFA19 is flattering. I haven't bought a video game since the year Playstation 2 came out, and I swear I've seen this screen shot before.
  3. I'm sorry if this was posted elsewhere. Kits on sale directly on the Macron website. https://www.macron.com/int/fr/canadian-premier-league
  4. Pros: The closest thing to a completely monochrome kit (something we have an abundance of in this country) is the FC Edmonton white kit, but the pinstripes make it not too bad. Wanderers' sky blue kit. Wanderers' scarf. Contrasting sock turnovers. Cons: No teams with hoops or actual stripes. Two of seven clubs sponsored by VW. Pacific's colour combination, even one of those two colours on its own would be bad. Winner: Cavalry, which surprises me. Observation: I don't remember Haber being that huge.
  5. Ooo, cornball music. Can the actual show be happening soon?
  6. I like it in rugby, but I don't think it would work well with footie.
  7. I can't decide if my favourite player ever is Atiba or Stalteri. This country owes both of them a lot.
  8. If you were York9, you could have gone back in time and beat me to it.
  9. Are they going back in time and playing last year?
  10. That doesn't help people who don't use Twitter. We used to be able to see WTA matches on somewhat normal TV, but then when Bouchard decided to become a lunatic, my interest faded in the women's game. Then suddenly Andreescu bursts onto the scene, knocking Bouchard's relevance into oblivion, and I discover we can't see WTA matches anymore.
  11. Oh! ...oh I'm not great at figuring out how to view stuff online even if it's meant to be easy.
  12. Can you view things streamed on the CBC website from overseas?
  13. During the process of ensuring there were teams on two of our three coasts (the 3rd one being impossible), they've forgotten a huge chunk in the middle. Surely francophone investors and fans would be more interested in the league if the league didn't have the image of excluding them. The horse could haul a lot more if it had a cart.
  14. They should wear the white as much as possible. If one gets ripped during a game, they can just replace it with a white t-shirt.
  15. This is what I predicted (somewhere on this forum) when the Starbucks of sports apparel was announced as our new kit manufacturers. Plain red: Inspired by the non-uniformly coloured maple tree r. Plain white: Inspired by what we here at Nike imagine that snow-covered country looks like 12 months of the year.
  16. Introduced by a woman wearing a shirt (?) made out of a 12-square metre piece of canvas.
  17. On the way Swangard, to see either the 86ers or the national team, my friends and I would always shake our heads at the number of local games that were going on at the same time. "Look, you f***ers, your country's trying to qualify for the World Cup just down the road, and we're going to be outnumbered by [insert name of blue and white-clad Central American team here] supporters again!"
  18. Unless you play for Honduras, Guatemala or El Salvador in a WCQ against Canada, especially in the 80's and 90's.
  19. Hello dsqpr, Please forgive my ignorance. I don't follow modern techno culture enough to know for sure, but I'm guessing you're directing me to take the topic of tennis to the tennis forum? My main point was a criticism of TSN and their history of generally not giving a toss about Canadian sport. Since the topic had drifted into all sorts other than the broadcast of the CPL, I didn't see anything wrong with congratulating Félix while I was at it. If I've misconstrued your cryptic message, my apologies.
  20. Yes, Félix's match today was on TSN...because it was the only singles match played today. I'm not sure which court all of Félix's previous matches were on, but I think at least two of the three were on the main court, possibly all of them. Were they available to TSN? Yes, all of his matches were mentioned in the order of play, and then TSN buggered off to highlights of a baseball landing on the ground with three slack-jawed hicks staring at each other, or whatever the blooper show was filled with. What else were the geniuses at TSN broadcasting at the time? As mentioned, some 'highlight' or blooper thing was on three channels. Yes, TSN's football coverage has now surpassed that of Sportsnet, I'll agree with you, but I think that has as much to do with Sportsnet's level fading as it does with TSN raising their standards. Well done, Félix! Félicitations! The youngest player ever to reach a 500 final.
  21. WARNING: Rant ahead. People who are uncomfortable around the raving comments of an old man are warned not to read this. I've been a little busy the last few days, and I haven't had much time to have a look at the forum. Therefore, pardon me for momentarily taking this thread off the current topic of the space-time continuum, fascinating as it may be, and comment on the broadcasting of the CPL. I feel it is very important for the league to have a presence on both television as well as out there in the internetosphere. If it's not on TV, it will only be seen by people who seek it out, and it won't reach any casual viewers. I'm an old man and I don't watch anything on the internet (unless it's a national team match and there's no choice), but as luck would have it, as soon as my life-long dream of this country having its own football league is about to become reality, I'm most likely moving overseas. Therefore, the CPL had better be on the internet as well, or I'll explode. As for TV, please, please, please, anyone but TS F***ing N. What I have managed to set some time aside for this week, is watching Félix Auger-Aliassime play in the RIO 500 as he ascends into the top 80 in the world (now the second-ranked under 20 player in the world, number one being compatriot Dennis Shapovalov). Félix has played three matches so far, and TSN has managed to avoid showing a nano-second of any of them, while showing matches of other players, and then cutting the broadcast off and going straight to something important like the 500th repeat of the bloopers of the month on three different channels with that fatarse Darren Dutyshyn wanker. This reminds me of the days when the TSN idiots (usually that douchebag with the weird lips who later had that interview show where he interrupted every time a guest answered his question) on their highlights show would give the score of a game of a Canadian footie match with no highlights, and then sit there making fun of the sport for five minutes. "And now, let's watch another ten minutes of Blue Jays highlights!" For me, the only choice for TV is the CBC. I think they're the least likely to cut a CPL match off, or join at half time because Coronation Street went a little long. NB: This was not meant as a criticism of any other posts and their relevance to the topic. I just needed to rant about TSN. Thank you for indulging me. And now, back to the space-time continuum...
  22. Excuse me, which way to the thread about CPL stadia?
  23. You made a very good point. Not only is the rail system extremely efficient, but you can also go from different places in Yokohama (through Kawasaki) to various points in Tokyo. For example, as you said, if Toronto bordered Vancouver on one side, and Montréal bordered Vancouver on the other side, and you could get on a train that's never late from several different parts of Montréal and head straight for BMO. NB: Tokyo Metropolis (not technically a city) is Tokyo Prefecture. The areas you mentioned are known as Greater Tokyo.
  24. That cat may have autism, but I have dyslexia and thought this thread was Colour Your Nails, so I didn't get involved at first.
