  1. Cavs still benefiting from familiarity - big time. Pacific is just so young, I never considered them contenders in the early stretch.
  2. It's pretty funny, no one but FIFA was really interested in a 48 team shared tournament but FIFA persisted and tried to pressure v the Middle East countries to accept it - didn't work so now they have to backtrack.
  3. I hope you both are correct - but it's different when you're a winger and there's four behind you and when you're essentially a wing back and there's only 3 behind you. I can't see him succeeding in the latter formation against the likes of Mexico or even the US - and on the right side. I didn't watch much Cardiff City this year, so happy to be proven wrong if he can do it.
  4. This is my thought, ZBG not really suited for a 3 man back and Hoilett can't track back and defend in a 3-5-2. I suspect this line up will only work against inferior teams. Maybe that's why Max is in the nets too
  5. This will be the deepest squad we've sent to the GC, well, ever. We need to win, not "look to the future". Borjan gives us the best opportunity to do so.
  6. Which is no less than they would deserve. At this point in time, the majority of our players aren't here because they chose us over other competitive offers.
  7. I agree - love the quote and also think he could be a nice player from the bench this GC.
  8. @Obinna Yes, very shortly after signing. Edit: https://york9fc.canpl.ca/article/york9s-emilio-estevez-called-up-to-chinese-taipei-national-team
  9. That was it, the A League. Thanks.
  10. This maybe a stupid question, but I thought that by virtue of Jamaica's position in the Nations League (8th) they didn't qualify for the Gold Cup? Why the nervousness about finishing in the top 6 if number 7 and 8 qualified?
  11. I count four CPL players in total, two being keepers.
  12. Interesting I see the US stole Tyler Boyd from New Zealand. That looks a bit desperate.
  13. A little disappointed with this, but in reality I guess he's wasn't going to feature for us much now or in the future.
  14. Who would you have? And you can't add names without subtracting names! Edit - I now see you have Carducci over Pantemis. That's pretty minor mate, Pantemis won't make the final team.
  15. Carducci has played well, from what I have seen.
  16. ...not to mention that he switched to defence from forward about 3-4 years ago. It's a phenomenal rise, really.
  17. Former striker shows his class. He's been pinned to the bench since the first few matches so hopefully he's earned some additional game time.
  18. I don't see him making the 40 - it's a wonderful time, we can debate whether a guy playing regularly in MLS even makes the 40 man roster. #allezlesrouges
  19. I suspect familiarity is the reason for the good form. There may be a leveling effect as time passes. But if what you're saying holds true into the second half of the year, I'll wholeheartedly agree with you.
  20. If a team doesn't perform, and attendance declines, the coach will go - combination of results and attendance. No time when the results aren't there and revenue stream declines, especially with each team starting at ground zero. Likely the decision will be made at the end of the season, but if a team trails far behind the others in a few months it could happen then.
  21. With his track record of success, "incompetent" does not sound like the words from someone competent to judge! Anyway, does anyone know what Koch's plans are - stay in pro or return to the college ranks? If he's patient and seeks it, I would expect he'd be able to get a nice Div I job, but he'd have to wait until November or so when they would open up. He'd also have to be the favourite to replace the 1st CPL coach fired if he wants to come home...
  22. On Christine's orders, I guess. Maybe a male player should take to social media to shout and cry about it.
  23. He has the tools, agree. He needs to become more confident and dominant in the box, and improve positioning and distribution. The first two traits should improve with game time, video and coaching. Distribution will come from training and working at it - boring to work on, but he needs to do so. If he improves in those three areas he'll be a pro for a long time and gain many caps. If not, his upside will be limited.
  24. Hasn't he always been primarily a LB
