  1. GK Erin McNulty is off to Norway for her first pro contract. http://www.sounderswomen.com/scripts/runisa.dll?M2.65936:gp::73694+L3/Display+E+NDX+NDX+746539
  2. Midfielder Amy Harrison heads to Scotland and joins the Rangers: http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/ladies-and-girls/item/4616-ladies-add-canadian-midfielder
  3. I agree with you. It's also frustrating because when playing, Robinson's been a very effective player and has pretty decent chemistry with Wambach. Robinson came on as a late sub one game and scored a beautiful game winner/game tying goal (I can't remember which).
  4. There have definitely been ups and downs. Good showing from her last night. She scored on a PK and was named player of the game. It must be fascinating being on the backline infront of a GK like Hope Solo. It's interesting to note that Kyle basically took Zurrer's starting job..in a position that's not natural to her. Zurrer has seen little to no playing time this season. Some decisions will have to be made after the season is done in terms of allocation. Tancredi will return to fulltime soccer, while Filigno will likely be looking for a post-college pro job and it sounds like
  5. Now that Heath is with Portland, I think Sinclair's scoring opportunities will increase. She seemed to be doing too much while Parlow Cone had her in the midfield. A number of Canadian players have really excelled in the NWSL. In particular LeBlanc has looked very good for Portland and her stop of Wambach's penalty kick two weeks ago was something else. Scott is turning a lot of heads too. There's a great article on her (http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/9499177/espnw-fc-kansas-city-midfielder-desiree-scott-scored-big-staying-canada) that discusses her progression as a play
  6. Thanks for all of your reports Rocket Robin. I love reading them!
  7. Sawicki hasn't been invited to a senior camp since 2011. She also hasn't attended any of the Excel camps either. Right now, she's playing for Highlanders FC: http://www.victoriahighlandersfc.com/teampage.php?squad=3 I'm not sure if she's on Herdman's radar.

  9. As per the CSA Twitter: Midfielder Danica Wu (Ohio St. / USA) and defender Kylla Sjoman (Herford SV / GER) have been added to the #canWNT camp roster. There are a few tweets going out south of the border than Erin McLeod isn't healthy due to a hand injury. We'll see how that storyline progresses over the next week. I thought Herdman may have called up Stephanie Labbe for backup, but he hasn't done so yet.

  11. The Canadian roster will be announced tomorrow, late morning on the west coast/early afternoon in the east.
  12. Good to know, squizz. Thanks! One thing I think the team is currently missing is the physicality Tancredi brings. She's tenacious, relentless and skilled. My hope is that Oduro can play a bit of that role with the team. As I recall, she got injured during the Cyprus Cup. I'm not sure of her status though because she didn't play in the friendlies versus France or England.
  13. Tancredi is a bit of a wild card. Will she be on the roster for this game? Herdman has half-jokingly alluded to it earlier this year. Someone had mentioned she was training with a men's squad in St. Louis? Some food for thought. My guesses on the starting 11: McLeod Wilkinson - Buchanan - Moscato - Sesselmann Matheson - Schmidt - Scott - Kyle Sinclair - Foligno (high striker)
  14. Melissa Busque has also joined the Seattle Sounders. Good article on her: http://www.sounderswomen.com/home/712837.html
  15. I echo the sentiments already posted. The only thing I'd like to add is Buchanan continues to impress. She's tremendously composed.
  16. Notes: - 150th cap for Matheson today - Sjöman making her senior debut. She's playing in the RB spot.
  17. Definitely. The fullbacks, Sesselmann and Wilkinson in particular, got caught up on a number of occasions leaving Moscato and Buchanan to fend for themselves in the middle. Speaking of Moscato, she bounced back after having some struggles throughout the Cyprus Cup. Good to see Buchanan confident out there. At 17, she's got a lot to offer. Using Zurrer up top late in the game is interesting. Herdman did this against England in Cyprus Cup final too, I think? But I could be mistaken.
  18. Fantastic finish by Canada as Kyle nets the tying goal in the dying seconds of injury time. Kyle came in as a sub and had two other solid chances before she buried this one. France definitely dominated the game, but great to see Canada get on board. They never gave up. 1-1 final.
  19. Coach Herdman has added defender and Burnaby native Kylla Sjoman to the roster. She played on the youth national teams in the mid 2000s. Right now, she's playing German Bundesliga II Division. She also played for the Doncaster Rovers Belles a couple of years back. She has experience playing midfield: http://www.soccerway.mobi/?sport=soccer&page=player&id=185642&localization_id=www More info: http://www.canadasoccer.com/canada-readies-for-clash-against-france-p153621 Of note, a late addition was made to the roster that will be available for Coach Herdman for these two ma

  21. Shannon Woeller has also signed on with the Seattle Sounders. Sounders head coach, Hubert Busby Jr., said, “I had the privilege of coaching Shannon for two W-League seasons in Vancouver. She has a great attitude towards the game and is very coachable. More importantly, she is always willing to do what is best for the team.” http://sounderswomen.com/home/704963.html Good call, Lord Bob.
  22. Great read. Sinclair was thisclose to playing in France on a long-term contract: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/21/christine-sinclair-psg-paris-saint-germain-nwsl-portland-thorns/ “That was back in September, October,” Sinclair explained. “There were rumors of a league forming in the U.S. I had sort of given myself the fall off from the Olympics last year knowing that would have been my last break before World Cup [preparation] and the next Olympic prep starts. So I decided to hold off and hope the league would form here, and I’m so glad I did.” Great quotes from the
  23. Costa Rica has now been re-appointed as host: http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/organisation/bodies/news/newsid=2039605/index.html?intcmp=fifacom_hp_module_media_statements FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2014: based on new guarantees received from the Costa Rican public authorities as well as the report received from CONCACAF, the executive re-appointed Costa Rica as hosts of the tournament.
  24. GK Erin McNulty has inked a deal with the Seattle Sounders: http://www.sounderswomen.com/home/703084.html “Erin is a technically sound Goalkeeper,” said Head Coach, Hubert Busby Jr. “She’s coming off a stellar year at Penn State. She brings tremendous leadership qualities in goal. Erin is also a great organizer that will provide a calming influence on the team.”
