Pacific doesn't fill their roster currently. I doubt that adding more available spots would change that too much

I think they do once the two incoming players finally get their paper work done. It's a pretty good squad too. I'm glad they didn't panic after the early season injuries.

    We need more games period.

Cavalry will play a total of 38 games this year.  28 league + 8 V cup + 2 CPL final.

Forge comes close with 36, if they make the final.

Valour and Edmonton will finish with 30 games played.  The lowest of all pro teams in Canada.

Not unless roster size increases. Pacific barely scraped by for most of this season

Speaking of Borges, 100% penalty missed on him at the end.  Inexcusable.  Ref decided to ignore that one.  The officiating will improve with experience and it will have to.  Like the notion of "letting players play" and all that but they're doing the players no favours by letting rubbish defending go unpunished.

I don't know how you're determining whether there was contact or not on that play.

Maybe the money was always there! Hope the other two signings mentioned come in.

Fraser Aird down the right wouldn't be too shabby to match Fisk down the left either, if they are splashing out. Worth dropping Issey into a player coach spot or dropping altogether.

Based on recent form, I'd probably choose Blasco and Verhoven over Fisk and Aird. I never would have guessed that 6 months ago

  5. Telfer is a good player, but I don't think he was ever near our national team. He plays in what is probably our strongest position. He has the talent to burn us in the future, but that doesn't make Canada's squad selection wrong

I for one cannot offer a good luck to anyone that could of played for us and then one day could knock us out of WCQ or whatever competition.Sorry but that's just me. Otherwise i agree 100%.

I always wish the other team good luck. It's just common courtesy. That doesn't mean I don't plan on destroying them once the game starts.

Our stadiums are actually designed, apart from those two, to not create any equivalence with MLS at all. They actually say CPL does not want to rival MLS, as I see it.

That's shite. Stadium size is simply a result of recognizing of where these teams are at the moment and existing infrastructure, not an indication of where these clubs hope to be in the future. Nobody is going to invest an irrecuperable amount until they know how the league will be received.

The only thing they care about is their bottom line. They care if their attendances, merchandise sales, sponsors and season tickets numbers at the very least stays the same for the most parts or increases while costs go down

Don't forget costs and the revenue generated from selling an MLS franchise. It's all about predicting where the market is going, and I think a growing number of Canadians are becoming interested in CPL

League's not going to miss out on the potential revenue and exposure of the championship playoff.  That would just be terrible business.

Diminishing the importance of hundreds of regular season games  seems like terrible business to me

We had the closest to a best starting 11 on the field as ever imo, which has to make a difference. We also see players solidifying roles and a bit less reliance on youth.

I didn't think Haber and Campbell were very convincing up top together last night. I think we would've been better off adding Verhoeven or Baldisimo into the midfield and playing with a loan striker.

It's getting harder to keep Zach Verhoven out of the lineup too.

Alternatively, a Beckie coming home to the CPL pushes out a young Canadian who may not have gotten a chance elsewhere.

I'm ok with more Canadians playing everywhere.

I disagree. I want our league to be as strong as possible so that the overall quality and supporter culture in Canada grows. If young Canadians aren't ready for the premier league than we should have a pathway for them to get to that level

CanPL site has him listed as Spanish nationality, but then Tomi Ameobi as Canadian (even though he only has PR).

Not sure how they decide what to list people as, but I am fairly certain he is not eligible

Blasco has been in Canada for 5+ years so I imagine he should be. As far as I know nobody has asked about his eligibility yet. Somehow
